Universal please consolidate all the room keys and tickets in to 1

You know this hasn't bothered me much. I am glad that Universal is getting away from the paper passes and going towards plastic. My Universal AP fell apart pretty quickly and last time I went I requested a new one.

New ones appear to be plastic
Don't know for sure as I have the hard cc type plastic AP

The ep printed off at the hotel are paper

In all my long stays off 15 or so park days, never an issue
No tears or rips in it

Always kept it in a lanyard and never had to remove it for the TM

I have never used a lanyard at Universal, just stuck the tickets in my pocket (and was fine with that), but Bumbershoot's testimonials have convinced me to give the Witz a try. $6.99 plus tax on Amazon, worth a try!

The only time I ever had problems with multiple passes was before they introduced the ROF pass for HHN and had to change out event tickets and express passes. Other than that, I do ok with the lanyard. I usually keep my hotel key separate anyway for easier access, and so I don't have to open the little ziploc bag often.

Don't feel like you have to use the lanyard that comes with it. I have mine on my Ravenclaw "school tie" lanyard. :) If I"m swimming I do put it on the lanyard that came with it, though. Don't want to ruin my "tie". :)

Next time we go we'll be switching from paper to plastic APs. I haven't minded my paper ones at all (and it's been easy enough to switch when the ink has smeared so much from sweaty sunscreeny hands) but maybe they'll be nice.

I am getting really psyched about our Sept trip! I am helping 2 of my kids move in August (one cross-country) and really need a vacation. Planning to upgrade my ticket to a Power pass and go back in Nov when DH is off on another scuba trip.

OK! I have always left my room key in my shorts pocket on a chair while swimming but will feel more comfortable with the lanyard. Plus we are doing Aquatica this time and will use it there too.

I used my waterproof cell phone case, which is on a lanyard, to hold all of the passes. My daughter used her own lanyard. Neither of us minded doing that. It was kind of a pain to get out my ticket for the Hogwarts Express.... but I was in Universal! In HP world!!! A little inconvenience was worth it!!! My hubby kept his passes in his pocket bc he hates wearing things around his neck. He was sure to keep the pocket closed (he had cargo shorts). I think he actually preferred the MB bc everything was together. He didn;t have to worry about losing anything and I know he used it to pay for coffee and snacks in the parks.

But not everything has to be like Disney. Universal has their own systems for the own reasons. Let Universal be Universal.

I dont understand why they're making people take their tickets out of the lanyard! That's so bazaar. They didn't make us back in April. I wonder if they were having trouble with some peoples not scanning (maybe it was on the universal print side?) so they're just making everyone so as to not back up the line?(assuming they tell you to before you get to the turnstile) I dont know.

Oh shoot, I didn't explain my lanyard set up. My phone was also in the case, so I had to keep all of the cards on one side (so the cards did not block my phone screen). I kept my EP on the outside since I would be using that more.

I've always had to take the ticket out.

EP can be scanned through the case but the ticket comes out.

We just got back from UO a few days ago. I never took my ticket out of my lanyard. Scanned just fine each time.

I never did last time either. I looped my lanyard through a belt loop and kept it in my pocket so I wouldn't have to bend awkwardly at the turnstiles.

Ive always thought they should have a handheld scanner like they do for EP for those. I don't have this problem but I have often seen people looking awkward bending down for ticket scanners! Makes me laugh. My face is just above the scanner no bending required...

We were mixed with removing our AP to get in.

So after reading all of these I have a question. We will be getting lanyards and my kids are all older so each kid will have the lanyard. I am purchasing tickets on Undercover Tourist, so I believe they are print at home. Should I wait until we check in at RPR and print them out there? Is that even an option? We will obviously also have the EP from staying there so that is a separate ticket? Thanks!

if you order the print at home tickets from UT, make a few copies in case yours gets wet or torn and the bar code couldn't be scanned

You would need to cut the paper ticket to fit your lanyards
So so this at home before your trip

You are thinking of the e tickets, right?

Why dont you order the actual tickets?
Think it is not much more and UT sends them to your home

We are leaving on Friday so we won't be able to get them in time. They have the buy 2 day/get 3rd day free deal right now. So I was just wondering if there was an option to print them at the hotel (less chance of something happening) as well.

It looks like it is an $80 difference to get them through UT. Is it better to order through US instead? What type of ticket and what options for physical tickets does that have?

Use kiosk pick up
It only takes 24 hours from order to when you can do kiosk pick up
Hotels and parks have the kiosks

And you get actual tickets, not the paper size 8x10 sheets

Don't know if the small processing fee would be imposed on the order
