Has anyone noticed how the parks close so early? I'm going to the park Friday, March 27... and the park closes at 7:00. Is there a reason for this? That seems pretty early.

It's always been that way and yes it's frustrating. The only times Universal stays open late is summer, Spring Break and the week between Christmas and New Years. I think it has something to do with the park being located within the Orlando city limits and noise ordinances.

Yes I'm going in June and both parks close at 7 p.m. What's up with that? I'm hoping that they just haven't updated their calender.

I noticed the other day they updated the hours for when we go in July 3-10th. Instead of the normal 9am-10pm it says 9pm now. The only day 10pm is 4th of July.

:sad2: I can't believe they are closed so early...........We alway stay until closing at WDW. We are night people. Last year at WDW we slept in everyday until 10ish then hit the park until closing..I guess we can't slept in on this trip. But at least we are going.....:dance3:

We are going at the end of August and I can't believe the parks are closing at 6 PM! We went last year at this time and I think they at least closed at 7.
That is way too early.

I know, I think it's ridiculous! We will be there June 14th thru the 19th, and the parks close at 7:00pm, it doesn't even get dark until after 9:00pm at that time of year. I'm very unhappy about the early closings.

i have been reading some threads where it said disney is cutting back hours also.

i can remember back in the mid 90's where UO was open later.
i loved being in the park from early morning to night time.

the only thing with the cut back in hours is you can enjoy city walk, the cinema at CW, do evening entertainment at your hotel if you are staying on site or if staying off site, have a leisure meal once the parks close.

We are going the last week in April when the parks close at 6pm (which is actually 5pm to us from central standard time zone) I was a little annoyed about it until i thought hmmmm We can eat out side the park everynight which tends to be cheaper. So Im not to upset about it after all ;)
I just have to convince DH we HAVE to be at the parks at 9am :scared:

I'm thinking they will extend hours once May hits. There is a disclaimer at the bottom that says hours are subject to change. Plus Disney parks are staying open til 9 p.m. -10 p.m. so I think they will have to stay open later to compete. i mean don't they have to stay open til dark to do there 360 show?

The park hour have always been dependent on anticipated crowds. If they are expecting fewer people this July than last year they'll probably close earlier than last year.

Just a guess but: I suspect they expect fewer people and if that projection changes they can always add another hour to the schedule. It's much easier to change the posted hours from 9:00 PM and change it to 10:00 PM rather than the other way around. If they posted a 10:00 closing and later changed it to 9:00 PM, it could cause lots of complaints. I bet there is a good chance that the hours may increase as the summer gets closer.

:thumbsup2

This shocked us when we went last week. The parks closed at 6pm and the kids were like "What do we do now"!!!!! They are use to being in the parks from early morning to late at night.

Saturday, June 27 - one of the dates when express pass is at the highest price & US is scheduled to close at 8:00 P.M.:confused3

As phamton said and I talked to guest services and they said the samething and that the park hours are based off of attendance of last year.
I think phamton hit it right on the head when she said it is easier to add an hour closer to summer than to if it is slow and take an hour away cause it would cause all kind of problems :thumbsup2

Actually it had been previously listed at 9:00, but is now listed at 8:00 - not sure when it was changed.
