hi we have decided sort of last minute (6 weeks to go) that we would actually like to go to universal but just the studios we're not that fussed by the rest. For 2 adults and 2 children I wondered if there was a way of getting it cheaper than the £250 ish gate price? thanks

One day tickets rarely get discounted, and they're the most expensive tickets (price per day drops with each additional day)

I don't think you'll find a cheaper option than gate price, with Universal direct.

Unfortunately for 1 day tickets, like Disney, you will struggle to get any kind of discount.
Just checked and online is same as gate price $396.18 = £238

Best discount being when you buy 2 days you get 3rd free at $558.02 = £336

You can't even go park to park with these.

Most people buy the 14 day, same as Disney they usually work out far better value but its difficult if you only want 1 day.

yeah thanks its just a shame that we really wont go for more than 1 day as we also have disney, busch gardens and seaworld tickets. but the more i look at it i really want to experience it as we may never go back to the states

If it's a now or never chance then you should absolutely go for it. Universal is fantastic - in many ways it actually has the edge on Disney! But even for a day it's well worth the visit!

yeah im going to go for it but only the studios park - we dont care for harry potter and in the adventure park its only jurassic park that i would be disappointed to not see. i bought seaworld/busch gardens 14 day tickets from floridatix im hoping i can strike an upgrade deal with them....
