Universal Orlando made a couple of announcements this morning in a video they released to the public.

I'm especially excited to see what they do with the "Amazing Adventures of Spiderman". I sort of liked Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast, but the show is dated and needed to be replaced for the sake of relevance.

I was surprised only because I don't see Despicable Me as being super popular or an attraction that will still be relevant a few years from now. I saw the movie & thought it was super cute but I don't see it as having the lasting appeal of Spiderman, Harry Potter, etc.

Was just coming to post about this :)

I think it makes sense, since they are coming out with a Despicable Me 2, but it will be interesting to see how well it translates into an attraction.

They also talked about doing upgrades to Spiderman. I am just hoping that they don't start until AFTER our vacation to Universal in September since this is a ride that neither I or DBF have been on ;)

I agree. I wasn't sure Despicable Me was worthy of an entire attraction. However, I didn't see a scary attraction moving into that space since Shrek 4-D was right across the street. I think they want to keep that area dedicated to animated films or totally convert it to some other theme.

Like another person said, they are making a second movie for despicable me, and hey they put in a simpsons attraction about 10 years after it was relevant! Lets not mention Jaws, Men in Black, etc....

Ooohhh, I love Despicable Me and think it'll be a great attraction! :thumbsup2 I'm glad the rumers were correct!

i loved despicable me...surprised they chose it for a ride, but it should be cool....

Wow, rendering all those Spiderman shots in 4K and 3D is going to be massive.

Puck, I might have to get me a RED camera so I can shoot in 4K! :rotfl2:
