Universal or Busch Gardens

Hi all, first time visit later to WDW. Am planning to take a couple of days out to visit Seaworld and then either Universal or Busch Gardens. Looking at tickets I can get a combo for Seaworld and Busch but not Universal. DD and I are into the rides, DW and DS not, so they will need other things to keep them occupied. Which would you rather visit, Universal or Busch?

Tough call. Since Busch Gardens is so much fun. Will you have a car? The thing is if you visit Uni and SW they are relatively so close that you can use the same hotel. For example all Universal onsite hotels provide a shuttle to SW. There's a Mears shuttle that does take you to BG from Mall at Millenia.

But if its a package deal that you are concerned with have you looked into Orlando Flex Ticket?

Like PP said the distance may be a factor for you. If you like coasters then Busch will be a better choice. I haven't been in a while but they have since opened a Land of Dragons and the Elmo land which may keep DW,DS occupied.

If price is an issue I think you can get Sw/Busch for a decent amount cheaper then Universal tickets are going for now.

I don't think you can go wrong with either but it depends on what you would be into. Busch also I believe has a full Zoo to keep your other members occupied. At Universal w/o rides you have the scenery and a cpl playgrounds. They have a few shows that could be fun too.

yes we will have a car. But the majority of the stay is in WDW (14 days incl WDW tickets), so getting a flex ticket isn't really worth it. just plan on taking 2 or 3 days out to do something different whilst we're there.

I agree it's a toss up between Universal and BG but if your group likes coasters, I would stick with BG. On the other hand, the drive over is a pain and I-4 is pretty much torn up all the way to Tampa. I think you will find the SW/BG ticket combo pretty hard to skip but if you can deal with the travelling aspect, head on over to Tampa for the day.

I'd go with Busch Gardens, it truly does have something for everyone, for those who are into rides there are 6 coasters and many other thrill rides as well as a few tamers ones. Then there are the animals, for those not into rides they can hop on the serengeti express train which will take them all around the 'serengeti' allowing you to get s good glimpse of the animals up close. And for theme park entertainment they have some fantastic shows that will keep anyone entertained. And you can get both Sea World and Busch together for a decent price.

The I-4 construction must be done because we just got home from Busch and it was smooth sailing both ways. We did one of the safaris for the first time and I highly recommend it if you like close contact with animals. We fed giraffes and antelope by hand.

They must have got done with it cuase last time I was on I-4 it was a nightmare.

I'm with ya on the safaris.We have done it a few times and its awesome!!

Actually Land of the Dragons was the old kid's area and it was replaced by Sesame Street Safari

I would just do Busch Gardens if u don't mind the drive. Busch Gardens is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL park. It is probably one of our very fav parks out of all the parks including Disney. We absolutely LOVE Universal also, but considering ur deal with Seaworld, would do Busch Gardens. Just think u have something to look foward to next time with Universal!

Actually Land of the Dragons was the old kid's area and it was replaced by Sesame Street Safari

Plus they got Jungala thats very kid friendly,well adult friendly also.Some great picture opps with lions and such!

Universal/IOA hands down.
