We are going to do 3 or 4 nights at Universal next July after 3 or 4 nights at BWV at Disney. We will probably rent a car. There will be 2 adults and 3 kids ages 13,10 and 7. Which Universal resort has a room to hold all of us without breaking our bank? It must have a neat pool.

We stayed at PBH, with 5 (3 adults, 2 kids)reservation agent said PBH rooms were largest. We paid 220 APH rate , with tax ~250 for one night, June 23. We made reservation only about a month in advance. Maybe the people who get better rates book further in advance.Hotel was full. DS slept on floor in sleeping bag. Room keys were in each guests name.
Pool was nice with large shallow area, but HRH pool looked like it had more kids and activities were listed on board by pool.

What is an APH rate? Is it Annual Pass? We probably will only get 3 or 4 day tickets.

Well, I know that our annual pass rate for Royal Pacific for late August is $129 per night. I'm not certain if 5 can fit in an RPH room but you can certainly ask.

Meant annual pass rate. I asked about AAA, Annual pass, Florida Resident, entertainment but could only get annual pass discount. WWW.hotelkingdom.com was even higher for that date.

Cindy B- How long ago did you make reservations?

I made the reservations last week.

the $180 for the prefered annual pass usually more than makes up for the additional cost.

i looked at www.loewshotel.com for next july ( 5th-9th ) and here is what it says for Royal Pacific

Daily Rate: (per room)
234.00 United States Dollars
Room Description:
Standard Room 2 Queen Beds Sleeps up to 5 335 Sq Ft tropical decor TV Full bath added rollaway for 5th person at nominal fee

Rate Description:
Seasonal Rate not combinable with 2 free ticket offer, rollaway available for $25/night

you should get a 30% discount with the annual pass

We got a deluxe room at HRH for $169 per night at the ENT rate. The deluxe rooms are larger than standard and you don't have to worry about getting a rollaway bed.

We're also a family of 5. We've stayed in the standard rooms at both HRH and RP. You can request a rollaway for an extra fee. I told them we had an air mattress which was fine. The HRH room was a tad bigger than RP.

As far as cool pools, the HRH is the favorite with my kids (10, 13, 14) b/c of the slide. But if you stay in any Universal resort, you can visit the other resorts pools, it's one of the perks of staying in their resorts. The RP has a very nice pool too, just no slide. It has an interactive water play area which younger kids would enjoy.

We are also a family of five (3 DS 13, 10 and 7). In the past we have stayed in HRH no problem fitting and have always gotten the entertainment rate. In 3 weeks we will be staying at RPR
also at the entertainment rate. We have never stayed at PBR, maybe next year!

Stayed at HRH a few months ago and the kids had a blast in the pool. Each night, they went swimming for 2 hours.
My daughter is 13, and we let her and a friend go down to the pool by themselves. I went down for a few minutes, then went back up to the room. We even let them split up from us at the park, and we stayed in touch with cell phones.
