Universal's Mediterannia is a great park. It used to be called Port Aventura. Divided into different themed lands (China, The Old West, Mexico, and others). There is a fantastic B&M coaster called Dragon Khan. It has 8 loops (more than any other in the world when it opened.) There is also a Dueling/Racing wooden coaster called Stampida. What is really unique about this ride is that it is actually 3 different coasters all in the same wooden structure. There are the two tracks for the big racing trains, and also a family wood coaster...but its all in the same structure...which makes the whole thing very impressive. One of the best things at the park are the shows (at least they were in 1999 when I went). There is a very large theater between China and Mexico...that houses two different shows...one chinese themed, the other mexican...but each side has a different entrance. So, if its the Chinese show you enter through a pagoda...and a temple on the Mexican side. Its actually difficult to realize that they are actually the same theater. The park is also home to some great restaurants. You may find it odd, but many attractions close for periods of the day when it is time to eat. So, suddenly there are no rides, and the restaurants are packed.
If you are there during late hours, they also have a fantasmic-like show called FiestAventura. A show that was really fantastic, and I wish they could do something similar at Islands of Adventure.
