Universal Meal Deal

My DS and I tried this last year. It was end of Oct / nov. It was early closing time. You can't start eating until 11:00- 11:30. The portions are large. We were able to eat one meal and then at 5:30 before the park closed, we squeezed in another. So really, we didn't the 20.00 bucks out of it! It maybe ideal for the times of the year when the parks stay open late and if you can eat big!

My family does not purchase the meal deal, we don't think it's worth the money. If it included drinks, we would buy the meal deal. On the other hand, it does include dessert, but we never have room for dessert.

We didn't think it was worth it. Your food choices are very limited IMHO, and the dessert choices might as well not exist. Choice of a chocolate or vanilla(maybe it was lemon) little cake that was gross.

My family and I tried the meal deal in June, and for us it was indeed worth it. The number of restruants you can choose from are limited, though. Still, the food was pretty good.

the 6 places that participate in it closes 30 minutes before the parks close.

it doesn ' t include drinks but if you have the refillable mug, that would help you in costs if you did the meal deal.

some people like it, others don't.

i think families that have teens come out ahead with this promo.

i think it was linda linda that posted about using it last year. it was good for her family.

you can eat as much as you want on it.
no restrictions on any time period of using it.

you could use it once an hour if you were that hungry.

they do keep an eye out on people that "share" on this plan.
not worth it to take advantage of it.

you are basically getting hamburgers/ch, chicken sandwiches, ch strips, etc that type of food.

We did it 1 day last year and thought it was worth it. I got 1 adult and 2 kids for me and hubby and kids. He sat down at the table and we went up. I shared with the kids and no one even noticed. We ate at Food and Film for dinner and the kids liked the fried chicken and the chinese was pretty good. We only did it 1 day, because we wanted to eat at mythos. If your going for a few days it is and inexpense day for the food budget. hth:thumbsup2

Sorry.... but apparently you didn't think it was worth it since you did not buy one for everyone in your party and decided to share (which of course is not allowed on the meal deal)

Well, my 5 year old eats like nothing and we shared 1 kids meal. You don't have to buy a meal deal for everyone in your party. It would not have been worth it for me as I don't eat much. I did'nt hide anything as I bought 4 drinks for 3 meal deals. I guess this is a judgement call, but I took advantage of nothing.

no you don't have to by one for everyone in your party, but you don't get to share either. So your Husband didn't eat, or did he buy his meals separately?

when guests take advantage of promos universal offers, it changes things for the rest of us.

special deals go poof when it stops making money for UO.

So you have to throw away food that you do not want? What is wrong with America that we throw away perfectly good food. While children in other countrys starve. I had the DDP and I wasted so much food. I think it is a shame to have to throw it away. I will not buy the meal plan for the entire family because my 2 youngest can not eat that much( I will pack them the tuna to go because they love it) Now if they want my french fries. I will give them on and I have no problem doing that! I rather give it to my children than to the garbage can.

buying the meal plan and children starving in other countries are not related to each other.

that's two different topics.

It is probably cheaper just to buy the meal deal for the big eaters and buy separate meals for everyone else. Cheating the system will just raise prices.

OMG... no one is forced into buying the DDP or the Universal Meal Deal.
If you don't want to play by the rules, stop playing. Cheating the system will only make prices go up/or make the meal deal go away
If you are so damn worried about starving children, why don't you sponsor a few to come over here, then buy them the Meal deal.

ouch! The flames:scared1: lets get readypopcorn::

i (personally) would not buy a 2 year old the meal deal....just the "bigger eaters"...it's good for adults and teens....not really the "little" ones...ya just don't get yer money's worth! as for me, i don't eat much more than my DS8...I would never buy it...it's like a 'buffet' for me, and i lose out on buffets..... it's a nice option to purchase tho......

The only way it cheating is if someone buys one deal and continues to go up and get multiple meals, and who has time to wait in line again and again? Time is money and we're there to ride rides. It's just like spliiting a reg. meal. , my daughter did go get seconds at food and film because the kid meals only get 1 peice of chicken. It worth if you have big eaters. I think we figured it was like getting free dessert for 2 meals as far as compared to just buying off the menu, but we like dessert.:)

Are the deserts different at every place, cookie, cake, jello etc., or are they all the same at each place.

Say, in-between meals you wanted just a cookie, could you get it at a participating place or do you have to get the whole meal each time.

If I buy the sippy cup, is it a braclet or some thing like that or is it actually a cup I have to carry around.
