Universal late Sept. or early Oct.

hello folks, just looking for some friendly advice... we ( as in family of four) are planning a trip to Universal for a weekday during the first week of October. Originally we planned for "Front of the Line" tickets. But this being "off season" & during a "weekday" are FOTL tickets even needed?? Should we save the extra money and just go General Admission? any advice from those that know late Sept. / early Oct. crowds would be of great help.. thanks!!
