Universal, Islands, Legoland or SeaWorld?

We just got back from 14 days in Orlando on Sunday and did all of the above :)

My 7 year old DS said his favorite park this trip was Legoland. DD10 said hers was Seaworld. This was the first time we had been to either place. We all had great times at all the WDW parks and both US/IOA, but those were there picks for their best this trip.

I will have to see if we can swing both Legoland and Seaworld. :) Did you do park hoppers for WDW? We never have, but were thinking of adding that for this upcoming trip.

On a future trip, I'd also throw in Discovery Cove for consideration. It's mellow, but a great change of pace in the midst of a busy theme park-filled week. We went last spring with my kids, then 6, 9 and 10 (all boys) and all three LOVED it. Highlight of the trip. Side bonus -- you get a free day at Sea World too (or their other parks, Wet and Wild, maybe Busch Gardens was an option too -- I don't remember). We picked Sea World and expected to love it, but didn't. OK, but not someplace we'd go again (even my animal-obsessed middle kid doesn't feel strongly about going back).

I haven't heard of Discovery Code - will have to check it out!

We've never done park hoppers. I'd rather take that money and do the Halloween party, or Universal or something else. We just pick a park for the day and stay there. The only place we hop is Universal/IOA and only because we can walk between parks.

My 5 and 6 year old LOVE IOA and US. They liked seaworld too, but LOVED US and IOA. If your kids like dinosaurs, dr. Seuss (Lorax , cat in the hat etc.) or super heros I would do IOA . If they are over 42 inches they will be able to do most any ride they would want to ( minus the big coasters which most kids aren't normally into yet at that age ) unless they are really into whales and dolphins I would try IOA.
