My thoughts were--couldn't be true...if it's true then it's a good thing I went when I did...I'll only go back during slow times of the year...a lot fewer people will be staying onsite...

 Is it APRIL FOOL'S ???

I am all set to have fun, you (almost) kill joy!!:jester:

Cruel! Cruel! Cruel! I was ready to pick up my phone and call Universal!

I seriously think I would have cancelled my trip to Universal and went to Disney instead. No FOTL = long lines= UNHAPPY PRINCE.

Awhile back I did hear a rumor that they were canceling FOTL for resort guests. one day I was in the park I marched my way to guest relations (in the studios) and ask them and they said yes, they were considering it. I filled out some kind of complaint card about it and told them that if they canceled it for resort guests, I would just stay with Disney next time. I was staying at HRH that week. I don't know what made them change their mind, but they had told me something about fairness to one day guests. glad they didn't change it, but they WERE thinking about it at one time.

WOW! You had my brain scrambling trying to figure out what to tell my DH!!! Yea, so sorry honey I booked us into this hotel that is WAY more than we have ever spent per night and like, you only get the free boat ride to the parks, NO FOTL!! He'd have shot me!!!
Thanks for the laugh!!
:hyper:

NOT A NICE THING to do to people whose counter is under 30 days. you almost gave me a heart attack!!!!

It wouldn't take long for those 3 resorts' rates to plumet. FOTL is the only reason I would pay $169 or more for a room at any one of those resorts. I'm sure most everyone else feels the same way about that. Too many other nearby options. ::yes::

TINK, absolutely agree. PBH, HRH and RPR are beautiful hotels, the service is wonderful, and the perk of staying on-site is great, but the difference in cost with the off-site hotels can only be justified with FOTL during the busy seasons. I have stayed at PBH during the slowest times of the year and the rates were significantly less than our most recent trip. The only way I justified that extra cost was because the FOTL made our trip so relaxing.

I don't know about you guys, but walking to the parks is worth almost as much as FOTL to me. I hate driving over there, parking, and then walking alongside a gazillion people and then at the end of the day doing it all over again. I enjoy walking out of my room with only my ID and my room key and taking a relaxing walk to the parks and if I get tired walk back to the room cool off and relax.
There is one thing I hate about HRH is their blasted fire alarms go off at least once during my trips! it did at 4:am once just after 9/11 and I was freaking out! now I'm so used to it, if there was a fire I would probably wouldn't believe it. Linda

I totally agree with that. And you feel like a VIP. When we stay there, we feel like we are far far away. It's just a different feeling.
