Hi

We are going to Orlando in June there will be 8 of us, and 4 children age 2 x 3yr old, 1 x 2yr old and 15mts old - is there much
to do for them? I know my little girl loves Barney which I think they have at Universal - anything else?

thanks
Nathalie

Hi.........
We took our 3 year old for the first time last aug. He loved it!!! At US, he loved the nickelodeon area, we did the tour, and we got to be on slimetime.......... he wasn't old enough, but he got to be in the "audience". He loved Jimmy Neutron, ET, Woody's Coaster, the water / play area, the horror make-up show ( it's not scary at all, and they actually put him in the show) really funny!!!! He loved shrek ( not the wait though!!) he hated twister, I would NOT recommend this for little ones. he went on jaws........ but didn't care for the fire, he was too little for mib, he liked the animal planet show, he was too little for bttf and terminator, but he did do earthquake, and it was ok..... he got a little freaked out at the end though..... dh just held him, not sure I'd reccomend this one either.

At IOA, he loved spiderman........... which makes no sense why they let him ride spidey and not mib???? He liked cat in the hat, but wouldn't do the other rides in the kiddie part......... ( he wanted to ride Jimmy!!!!) I did not let him on the pteranadon flyers......... as they go in the seat alone, and I thought he might want out.......... I just couldn't do it!!! There is plenty for them to do, they will have a good time. I would also check out the babysitting if you are staying onsite............... so the grown up could enjoy some of the "big people" rides!!!! ( for us, he has 2 big brothers to babysit!!! so, that worked out good.) Also, you can utilize the baby swap too, it's avail. for a lot of the rides. You can take them to all the shows, and make sure they see all the characters (esp.) if they watch nick.......... they'll love seeing Jimmy and spongebob........... my son LOVED that area the best.

just as a side note................ you can take them to ANY restaurants at the park, citywalk or your resort......... don't be worried if you think it's a "fancy" place.......... kids are welcome everywhere!!! So where is this going........... MYTHO'S!!!! is not to be missed!!!! They may also like the volcano erupting at margaritaville. My sons liked nba city too.

You will have a great time!!! Enjoy your trip! :smooth:

that was great info wendy- i have a very tall 5 year old who is almost as excited as me:rolleyes: to be going

the only ride he seems apprehensive about is terminator ( he watched the video previews) but there is always the baby swap

lisa:wave:

SpideyHulk should be able to help out too :)

I've seen the Barney show...after my mom told me to, and lost a bet with gbluvr2886 (well, not a "bet"...but didn't do something...so it was like my "punishment" LOL). I guess if I liked Barney I'd enjoy it...but I'm 16, so.....yeah....and the preshow..Eeeeek. LOL The kids seemed to enjoy it though.

KidZone is huge with so much to do! I haven't seen it all, but I'm sure some of the parents on here can describe the area.

ET is a great ride. Put the children towards the left side...you fly over the city and can only really see it from the left side. It's the best part of the ET ride too. :teeth:

Ghostbusters and Animal Planet Live are two appropriate shows. Kids may not get anything out of the GB Show at that young age, but I've seen older kids who liked the show. Animal Planet Live is a cute show though.

I've seen parents who took young kids to Horror Makeup Show and Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue. Both of these shows have a PG-13 rating, and for good reason. Neither show is really scary (though I did see a boy cry at the Horror Makeup Show before...but most kids fend well), but some of the jokes and comments said are a bit on the suggestive side...though at that young age, you're kids will not even notice them. There are pyrotechnics and loud noises at the Graaveyard Revue, FYI.

Jimmy Nuetron and Shrek 4-D are fun rides for kids, and they do have a Nick tour...though Slimetime Live isn't being taped right now.

IOA has some great play areas throughout the park. If I Ran the Zoo in Seuss Landing is a great water Play area. I had fun here and spent a long time entertaining myself there...and I was in 6th grade at the time! :) Kids of all ages like it.

There's also a play area in Jurassic Park area which is pretty big.

Don't forget to get your kids talking to the Mystic Fountain! ;)

Hey there guys! Our 3 year old loves Universal! As a matter of fact he keeps asking when we are heading back!!!!!! He loves Spiderman, Seuss Landing and all the characters at each park. At the Studios, he loves the shows, Jimmy Neutron, Shrek and all the fun play areas. Your little ones will have a blast there!
