Universal/IOA tickets How many days to purchase

We are staying at the Royal Pacific
Checking in on July 15th and checking out July 18 for a total of 3 nights. I read on the RPH site that even though check-in is I believe around 4 that we can still arrive early the morning of check-in hopefully by 8a drop off our luggage and head off to Universal and IOA and take advantage of the unlimited express pass offered by the hotel. Another poster confirmed that on the day of checkout I could still leave our car in the lot at RPH til park closing so we could enjoy the parks one more day. With that said I just want to make sure before I buy 4 day tickets that we would have access to the park on the day of checkout with use of the unlimited express pass from the hotel and use of the water taxi if we didn't want to walk to Universal/IOA . Where is the best place besides AAA to get theme park tickets ? I'm holding out for a while to see if there is a special on tickets.
I believe those are something you could buy last minute.

Yes express pass for resort guests is good on check out day.I would invest in park to park passes, if you are interested at all in the Harry Potter stuff, the expansion should be open in July and in order to ride the Hogwarts express you will need the park to park tickets.I wouldnt count on any special ticket deals for the summer, with the expansion opening, they wont need to offer an incentive to get people to visit.AAA is ok, we prefer to use Undercover tourist for our tickets.

Thank you for answering. I was debating if we should get the park to park tickets. Is it easy to get back and forth to each park ? Also, is IOA park open 1 hr early for on- site Universal hotels everyday ? I have seen some posters mention undercover tourist for tickets.

The parks are literally next door to each other.A very short walk.IOA opens 1 hr early for resort guests just for the Harry Potter stuff.Nothing else is open at that time.Undercover tourist is very reputable and has great prices.If you sign up at mousesavers.com for the newsletter, an additional small discount is available with the link on the newsletter
