Universal increases parking to $12/day

And the annual pass gets even more value. This change is effect as of today, right?

I wonder if the AP rate has gone from $5.00 to $6.00 for preferred parking? I don't pay for preferred parking anymore...the novelty wore out. I'll find out this weekend.

Yes you are right but we are not paying to spend the night in the staduims either. I thought the parking was in the cost of your nights stay or I mean it should be:)

I think the original poster was referring to parking in the garages to go to the parks, not at the on site hotels where you would actually be staying overnight. That is $14 a night, I was just at the HRH, and it was on my bill, actually with the "parking tax" of 6.5% it's $14.91 a night :scared1:

Anyway, the garage parking cost is more reason to become an AP holder, than parking is free!!! (at the parks, not the hotels)

I could be wrong. But the totale taxes for Orange County FLA is 12.5% to the dollar...?

I believe you are right, that percentage seems to have been applied to our actual room price. We paid $219 a night, and $27.38 a night in tax. But the "parking tax" is listed just as that, for each night we had a car parked in the HRH lot we paid $14, plus .91 cents in tax. It's all itemized very nicely on our HRH bill.

We did that once too (pay for preffered) but didn't really find it too worthwhile, its just one building over and one less set of walkways, right? One of these times I'll valet it, maybe .. okay, probably not.

;) :rotfl:

I have a Preferred AP, so Nothing wrong with free self parking....and an exercise to the parks lol.

Glad I have an annual pass.

For $12, at least you get a nice garage spot-- not some awful corner of a parking lot.

The price was just increased to 14.00 a day I called to find out today that is for self parking

That's for the on-site hotels though and that's a price set by Loews, not Universal.

Self-parking in the garages for the theme parks/CityWalk is currently 12.00 a day.

OH ok. Now if you stay onsite do you have to pay the 12.00 to go to citywalk?

You wouldn't have to pay parking at the hotel and the garage. CityWalk doesn't charge an admission fee...just some of the clubs.
