over the past years, the universal forums have always been rather small and pushed over to the side.
when a poster would talk about universal in the community board, or other sections of the dis, they would be treated in an unkind way. ugly remarks would be made and they usually were bashed.
not always but most of the time.
there are some disers that believe the sun rises and sets on the motherland only. any comment or attempted discussion on favoring the universal parks usually ended in a closed thread due to the arguments or rage that came out.
i asked permission over a year ago if we could set up a "chat thread" on the universal forums. we needed a place where we could talk about trips, either universal or disney or sea world, etc without being feeling like we were second class citizens. kind of like red headed step children connotation.
the phrase is self explanatory.
i received the go ahead from the mods and thus we were born a year ago march. after many started posting on that thread, we joked about how nice it was we could all get along no matter what we liked. there are many things we can like and not get hurt feelings.
the phrase
red headed step children of the dis was born then.
we are not a clique as everyone is included and welcomed to post or ask questions. many of us welcome newbies at the thread. no one has ever been excluded. we tell everyone to jump in and start talking. no need to go back to page 1 of the thread to get the drift of what the subject is about.
it changes with each page.
some of us went to other threads and rooted for posters we didn't know to get tags. some became
redheads that way without even knowing what it meant. we just wanted to share the mummy dust with others.
now we have
sneetchs which is another kewl thing.
sneetchs are an universal thing that you won't find anywhere else.
i love them both and have sneetch envy as i type this...
anyone can be a
redhead. it means we all play nice.
i have helped some others to get the tag. i have suggested things and mummy dust was spread and the poster got their wish.
we can do that again if you want to be a
sneetch or redhead or maybe a
redheaded sneetch without a star.....
sorry to be so long just wanted to share the background on how the tag was born...
oh, and most of us
proud redheads are blondes......
