Hi All!
We are planning our first family Disneyland vacation leaving September 30. We are planning to spend the Friday we fly in at Disneyland the off to see the Anaheim Ducks and LA Kings play in a preseason game that night. Saturday and Sunday we are planning to visit Legoland (which my kids have been dying to see!) and either Universal or SeaWorld. The rest of the week we are spending between Disneyland and California Adventure finishing our week off with the MNSSHP on the Friday night. Does anyone have any suggestions as whether to visit Universal Studios or Seaworld?

Of those two, I'd pick Sea World. Were you planning on staying at an Anaheim hotel the entire time? The drive to Legoland is at least an hour each way, so it would be a bummer to do that two days in a row. Sea World is at least 90 minutes from Disneyland if there's absolutely no traffic, so it would only make sense to stay down south for the days that you do the San Diego attractions then move to Anaheim. Where do you fly into? I would definitely consider changing hotels.

We are flying into Anaheim and staying in Anaheim. Relying on bus tours for the trips out to San Diego. I was at Universal years ago before the kidlets came along and have never been to Sea World. Kids are 12, 8, and 5.

In that case, two day trips to Legoland will probably get expensive, no? You only need one day at Legoland unless you are also going to the aquarium and the water park. Have you looked into the price of renting a car for just those days you go to San Diego? Renting a car would be more convenient, as when you take the bus trips, you are at the whim of their schedules. Just a thought.

You might want to check park hours for the day(s) you will be visiting either. A weekday at SWSD in Sept probably has a closing time of 5.

I would like to rent a car but DH does not. He doesn't want to try to navigate Southern California. We are from small town Sask. Big city driving doesn't appeal to him, although I am always game for an adventure haha! I will check park hours for Sea World and see what I come up with there. I would like to check out Sea World, but the drive both days seems a little much. We are only planning one day at Legoland. No waterpark or aquarium there.
