Universal Hollywood end of the night crowds?

We will be having 1 day at Universal with Express pass to end our trip over Memorial weekend (at Universal on the Tuesday after Memorial Day) I was oping it would open at 9, but with the 8am opening, the early access is just so early... We have already made peace with likely not going on the mario kart ride, though we'll be able to check out the land... but how are crowds at the end of the night? we are good with closing down the parks if it's worth it. We will still try to be there at open to try and get on some extra rides before needing our express pass... but we can make a full day of it. Is the end of the night less crowded? Or like disney, is it busy with locals?
