Not sure which website you are looking at, just added a ticket direct on Universal's site and let me buy without adding any other tickets but a crazy $92 plus tax :scared1: https://www.universalorlando.com/Ticket-Store-HHN/PurchaseTickets.aspx?HHNTickets

Hi , if you try and select the stay and scream option at $38.99 that I am wanting , it says you need to add a day pass as well . I know $92 is crazy . Can't work it out : (

They must have been updating site just tried it and the 23rd oct we want has gone up from $38 to think its $49 now total I think $179 . Just going to tell DH he has more to pay out !!

Ah I see, In T&C's it says this:
Restrictions Apply:

Ticket must be purchased in conjunction with a regular theme park daily admission ticket - does not have to be used on the same day as your daytime park ticket.

So are they only available if you purchase a day ticket at the same time? looks like it.

Oh no !!! Getting in a real mess here it is $38 for the stay and scream but can't do it without buying a park pass too . The $49 is for the express pass !!! Might have to express pass this one all together !!!!

Didn't have this problem booking MNSSHP and you don't have to pay to express it . Might look into it when we are over there but think we might give it a miss . I think it will be a busy one and need express pass just to do it and is it really worth it ? Thanks again for the help : )

MNSSHP tickets are definitely easier to buy. :thumbsup2
Maybe ask on the Universal forum or wait til you are out there.

That's how I read it. It is a bit confusing, luckily we haven't brought our US tickets yet, so we should be able to do the Stay and Scream option.

MNSSHP definitely easier lol.

Just wait until the day you want to do HHN and buy your stay and scream inside the park, you can buy them from the guest relations just inside as you go though the entrance.

Really is no need to book in advance if you already have your park tickets.

Agree with this - we have bought the Stay and Scream on the day, in the park - well, my DD has anyway - no way you'd get me there;)

We've got the Frequent Fear tickets, which cost around $80 (plus tax). These allow entry to non-weekend nights throughout, which I don't think is a bad deal. I was going to book Stay & Scream tickets but I don't like Universal's pricing structure so I'm going to book the 14-day tickets that cost £106 each.

Thanks , we will just do that I think . Will just make a note of the dates they are on before we go . Did you enjoy it when you went ?

those special nights are way too busy.
Last year it was sometimes like 2 hours to enter a "House" (no way you can do all of them in one night)
There are the "RIP Tours" which will get you faster in the Houses (express pass is useless on those nights, not even sure it works at all)
RIP Tours (non private) start at $109 (on top of the admission ticket for the party)
I wouldn't go without this.

If you're in a large party, there is the private RIP tour, for a group of up to 10 people, with a private guide and immediate access. Price for a group up to 10 is $1250 (plus individual admission ticket for each party member)

We went in 2011 and loved it, going again this year too. Good thing about stay and scream is that you get about an hour to go around the houses before the event is open to the rest of the public.

What date were you thinking of going? if you are going on a Thursday or Sunday close to the start of HHN (20th Sept) I would advise not wasting money on the express pass, you will have time to visit each house twice over which will probably be enough.

When we went - albeit a couple of years ago now - we got express passes and they were invaluable. We were able to do every house with time to spare to have a meal in Finnegans too. If you decide to do it without EP I would consider which 2 - maybe 3 - houses you really want to see as you wil struggle to do more than that in one night.

we bought Frequent Fear (albeit in 2006) which was good value and i think we went 3 nights as you couldn't do it in 1 night. it did include the weekend when we went but i wouldn't recommend going then anyway as all the locals go at the weekend and it was rammed. Also lots of gangs and drinking alcohol - which I disagree with them selling as they make you "drink up" before entering a haunted house so loads of people knocking back the drinks too quick and we saw a couple of fights breaks out (between locals)....anyway on week nights was full of tourists and a much better atmosphere :) we've done 3 of these events....not that I would do it again as it's far too scarey for me :rotfl: Hope you get your ticket sorted, it's an amazing evening!

This is the answer - if you have bought a multi-day ticket, then you can just buy your S&S on the day when you are at the park.

Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2

We're going on a Thursday night- if we like it, we'll go on another weeknight. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat too, so we'll see how it goes! :rotfl:

Would you recommend getting an Express Pass for the Thursday night? I keep reading conflicting advice! It's only another £40 each so maybe we should just go for it?

9 of our party of 12 did it last year, they paid for an express pass and said it was well worth the money. We bought stay & scream as well ( had same issues as you) we actually bought earlier on in the holiday, about a week before - as I wasn't sure how fast the tickets sold out. Then on the day we were doing it went in about lunchtime and those doing the stay & scream stayed, & us chickens went over to Islands of adventure before going home. I also pre-booked a table at Finnegans for about 5 pm I think it was, so those stopping ate whilst in holding area. This worked really well too, used 'open table' to book. Lots of info on the HHN thread.

Not one for me or DD but those that did it loved it, even DH who wasn't too sure.:scared1:
