have you heard of Duffy the Disney Bear? he is now meeting at Epcot. and they are selling Duffy stuffed bears and multiple costumes for him. i believe that is what this window references.

Are you being serious? Disney did not "lose" Harry Potter. HP has no place in a Disney theme park, anymore than a Nickelodeon or Warner Brothers cartoon does.

Actually, it is a shot at Disney. Disney has a bear called Duffy. Hence the cans of Duff and a teddy bear.

I think Uni's little snarkies are hilarious. Lots of cuts on Disney in the Terminator pre-show if you remember things like the old Spaceship Earth and Horizons.

I agree, nobody should be thinking of this as a shot at Disney,it's just funny,they put a bunch of Duff beer cans next to a Teddy bear,I'm certain this would put a grin even on the face of Disney execs.

That is in the Simpson's store (Quiky Mart). And that's not an actual Duffy bear. Some of you might not remember that the Simpson's ride also makes fun of Universal in both the Queue videos and also in the ride itself. There is also a joke about Seaworld. It shares its irreverence between all 3 themeparks in Orlando (Disney, Universal, and Seaworld). It's all in keeping with the Simpson's theme.

I do think Disney took one giant potshot at Universal Studios with the naming of Hollywood Studios. You have no idea how much confusion there is for many tourists. Many were already confused with MGM. We already have Universal Studios that also has a Universal Studios Hollywood. Now you throw in Hollywood Studios into the mix and many guests are confused when purchasing tickets for Universal Studios or thinking their Disney ticket works at Universal. I also know that Disney gets the same problem with guests going to Hollywood Studios with their Universal tickets. I know they had to change the name but did it have to be so close to Universal Studio's name? But that's OK, since they now have Rip Ride Rock-It which sounds similar to Rock N Rollercoaster. And let's not even get into Disney buying Marvel rights.

When we went to U.S. in 2007 we watched a show and they made fun of Disney.

Something along the line of " we don't have to be nice to you here, this isn't Disney."

That's in the Horror Make-up Show and they also make many wisecracks about Universal also.

Disney actually likes having more tourist attractions in Orlando. It gives Orlando a bigger draw. When people come to Orlando, for whatever reason, Disney usually gets a piece of the action. The fact that some people love Universal is okay, because they usually drop some money at Disney also.

Universal knows that, without WDW, they would be out of business. They have a bit of a symbiotic relationship.

What many people do not realize is that Universal and WDW work together on many projects to improve Orlando. Disney CMs and Universal staff often work the same charity events. When Gatorland had a fire, both Disney and Universal immediately sent people to help Gatorland reopen. Not only do a lot of Disney CMs also work at Universal, but those that don't have friends that do.

I know a lot of management people from WDW and from Universal. There is a rivalry between the parks, but it is a friendly rivalry. One of the Disney managers lives a few houses from me. He thought the commercial about seeing another princess was hysterical.

People need to realize that you can love Disney and still like Universal. Liking Universal won't hurt Disney in the least and Disney won't get upset knowing that you also like Universal.
