Universal Halloween Nights OCTOBER 2009

so staying onsite doesn't get you FOTL during HHN evenings? Just during the day?
That is correct...Since HHN is a separate hard ticket event, hotel guests do not get unlimited Express access. Everyone must pay for the passes.

::yes::

but you have less steps to walk to the hotels than the garage..

I am guessing they are gonna be at the premium price too...how much are the VIP tickets? Do those get you FOTL? If so it would surely be something to save up for...just me and DH of course...

The VIP tours are the day/night tours in the park. anyone can book them. you have the vip tour guide for the entire time period.

the VIP RIP tours are the ones for HHN.

last year the exclusive RIP tours were $2000.
that is the one i booked.

the inexclusive tours were, $120 per person for a 4 hour tour from 7 pm to midnight and a 5 hour tour for $150 per person for a tour 8 pm to 1 am

for those, they could put up to 15 people in a tour.

you can not pick who you want in those tours.

the admission to the park is not included in the rip tour tickets.
you have to pay for the hhn hard ticket also.

i booked the exclusive 7 hour tour so i could include the homies in the group.

we had so much fun together!
planning a repeat this october again.

when you do the rip tour, your group goes ahead of the express line for the houses.
you also can have reserved seating in the middle section for the bill and ted's show.
you only do the houses once for the inexclusive tour.

for the tour i did, we were able to decide how to break up the evening and do repeats on the houses.

$2000! That's ALOT of dough for a few hours...I'm sure it's worth it but no where near my budget lol, especially since we are going back as a family in 2011...

it was more than a few hours.
it was for 7 hours.

the ap gave a great discount.

we divided up the cost equally then.

everyone in the group really loved it and said repeat for 09...

we only paid about $12 more than if we had done the inexclusive group tour.

if you have only 5 people in your exclusive group, yes, then that would have been expensive.

all of us were, for the most part, hhn addicts....

I misunderstood Mac...though you never said per person that is what I assumed lol. Out of curiousity...how many people does it cover? Yeah I could do the math but there's no fun in that...unless of course you love math, in which case it could be fun...:p

Well opening weekend is only Friday and Saturday nights. Last year, opening night wasn't too terribly busy but I understand Saturday was. You could wait and go on 10/1 which is the next Thursday night if you wanted to stay away from the opening weekend crowds.

Metro-
Are you pretty confident opening weekend will be 9/25 & 26? We always go opening weekend for the AP discount and I want to book our room.
Tx!

Yes...HHN always opens the last weekend of September which is 9/25 & 9/26 this year.

I'm going to be visiting US for the first time this October and I want to AVOID HHN all together. Should I plan on seeing the parks M, Tu, or W only?

No, go whenever you want. USF will close at 5pm on HHN nights, while IOA will close at 7pm. On non-event nights, both parks will close at 6pm or 7pm. Just plan around that and you'll be fine. Check out the in-park decor and have fun during the day. Nothing scary will try and get you.

Except for the mummies that hang out by ROTM.

I'm not scared of anything coming to get me, I'm just trying to avoid the crowds!! I'd like to spend a full day without worrying about getting kicked out before I'm ready.

OK, I'm finally going to admit it. I am nervous about HHN. I'm going opening night. Although I don't scare easily, my last haunted house experience did not end well. A friend of my Mom's was a monster. He said my name and encircled me with his arms. I kicked him in the you know whats, just a reflex not on purpose. Yes, I took down the monster. I don't know why, but I get really defensive in haunted houses.

I know no one will know me personally, so no one will call out my name, but how physical do the actors get? Do I need to worry about any "reflexes" coming out and embarassing both me and the monster? Am I going to get the major heebie jeebies?

Again, gore is OK. Someone jumping out at me is OK. Physical touching makes me crazy. What can I expect?

They are not allowed to touch you physically, so no worries there. That goes both ways tho', so if you got startled in another way and smacked one of them, you'd probably get ejected from HHN. I've seen it happen a lot, but it's mostly with people who've had a bit too much too drink and forget what they're doing.

FYI-
Just called to make my reservations and I was told that while not confirmed, they have posted on their bulletin board that HHN will begin the first weekend in October this year and run 6 weekends through 11/7. I think this will hold true because the rate for the first weekend in Oct is $40 more per night than the last weekend in Sept.

Hmmm...interesting. I guess maybe they will extend on the back end instead of the front this time. That's a new wrinkle.

Well that really sucks because our last day will be Saturday Oct 3rd and we wanted to try the HHN. Looks like we won't be able to unless we change our dates, which I don't think we will since we have our Airline tickets already and it's hard for my wife to get time off in the last 3 months of the year. Oh well.:sad2:

I wouldn't give up hope yet. There will be lots of changes between now and then and website details won't even be up until sometime in late May or June.
