universal grad bash

we will be arriving in Universal Studios on 4/23-4/27. I just read on their web site on 4/22 & 4/23 it's Grad Bash from 7 pm - 2 am. Mardi gras was extended to 4/30 so on 4/23 Universal will be very crowded with high school seniors and the party for mardi gras. We are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel & I was just wondering do the kids from Grad Bash stay over? on the web site it also states city walks from 5-8 is exclusive for Grad Bash? just wondering how this all works for the public. I noticed the parks close at 6:00 pm. on both nights. Any comments or recommendations?

Ok I'll try to break this up the best of my ability.

1) Grad Bash is only at Islands of Adventure and City Walk
2) You will have few to none staying the night because Grad Bash is like a field trip and the school is reasponsible of them
3) For the Grad Bash in City Walk from 5-8 they will just be in the upper deck when none of the clubs are open yet anyways.
4) If you are staying onsite then the crowds wont be that bad. If you are not and don't want to stay for Mardi Gras you can expect it to be insane! Mardi Gras brings in a huge crowd then you have all the high schoolers going to IOA for the trip, with crowds as bad, if not worst, then Halloween Horror Nights. If you do want to stay for Mardi Gras then you will have a crowd heading out but most of the high schoolers should be at IOA at that point so it should be smooth sailing on heading out.
