I am not 100% certain on this but I am almost positive they cannot. I believe they say so on the gift card that is only for inside park and possibly at the Universal store outside.

Also, (again, the fine print), I believe you have to cash them in for Universal bux or something of the sorts? We bought one for my BIL a couple years ago and I don't think you can use it in the parks like a typical gift card...I think he had to cash it in or something...which, I thought was kinda dumb. What's the point of giving a gift card if you can't use it like a gift card?

I had one either last yr or the yr before and I just handed them the card and they would scan them and give me a receipt with balance on it.

I tried saving $$ by putting it on gift card and that was not a good idea because it went rly rly fast.

That was our experience. Most vendors in the park accepted the Bucks, and gave change in regular US currency.

I got them as an Xmas present for my DH, and I think they are a good idea for presents, but not really useful if you are thinking of using the cards in lieu of cash or credit cards.
Or, I guess they can be used to budget/force savings?

I didn't think ANY restaurant at CW took them, but phamton says you can....

Unless you call in advance and ask, I would try..but don't count on it.....that way, you are prepared.

It was believed for a long time that Emeril's did not take them. But it turned out to be untrue.
