We have planned a trip with friends in Aug. to FL for Disney and Universal.
We have 6 days for both parks. We have 10 people and kids range from 5-14 in ages.
We have stayed away from Universal because of the cost of Disney and Universal tickets. Does anyone know a cheap way to go to both Disney and Universal for this trip?

Also will my kids enjoy Universal at 5 & 7 years old if so what rides would you recommend?

There are no combination tickets that include Universal and Disney so you couldn't get the Flexticket. Unless you can find discounted Disney tickets somewhere, I don't know of any way to do it cheaply.

Both parks at Universal have lots of stuff for younger children to do. At IOA, they will enjoy Seuss Landing, Me Ship The Olive, Camp Jurassic and the Jurassic Park Discovery Center...as well as the Mystic Fountain. At the Studios, they will enjoy the Woody Woodpecker Kidzone with Barney, Feivel and Curious George areas. There is also E.T., and the Animal Actors show.

Agree with metro there is no ticket combination and to do universal and disney both would be very exspensive but as metro states there is plenty for the kids at Universal :thumbsup2

I agree with PP's, but just wanted to add that my 7 year old also loved Spiderman, The Simpsons, Flight of the Hippogriff and Men in Black. It would depend on the child, though.

I think that they might also enjoy Shrek and I saw quite a few young kids on Disaster. It just depends on the kids.

Well, you could get YES tickets for Disney. There are classes in August, and you get deeply discounted tickets And Undercover Tourist has discounts of 10% off Universal tickets. We are going back next summer, so I am just getting APS for Universal--only $240 each.

If you are a costco member, you can get a good deal on a 3 day ticket to universal from there. $139 I think. Then just get a discounted Disney ticket.

Also, where are you staying? If you search for "friends & family" there is a intercontinental hotel person who is sharing their discount for hotels. The DTD holiday inn is as cheap as $60 per night. So that's another way to save some big bucks.

My other plan to save money is to have cereal in the hotel room for breakfast and then eat lunch in the park and have dinner offsite. Food in the parks can be expensive.

Not sure if you wanted all that info or just ticket prices, sorry for getting carried away. :)

You can definitely save some money on lodging with 10 people. I'm renting a 5 bedroom pool house offsite for $625/week. Save money on lodging, which you can spend on the tickets. With our group, we would have needed 3 rooms, which would be $300/night at the least.
