We have enjoyed our past few vacations at WDW. I'm thinking we should try Universal for a change. If I do not participate in water rides...will there still be enough to keep me happy....ie: atttractions, other rides (not roller coasters...but Disney-type rides such as: Small World, Haunted Mansion, etc.
Opinions please and TIA!!!

There is a ton to keep you happy at Universal and IOA. It's hard to compare it to Disney, there are a lot more motion simulator and (4-D?) type rides. The most Disney-like rides I can think of are ET and Jimmy Neutron. At US you have Earthquake, Jaws and Twister which could compare to MGM's (?backlot tour?) or whatever it's called, but better. You ARE missing some really great rides if you eliminate the coasters and water rides, but you will still find plenty to enjoy. Spiderman is a must!

MIB is along the same lines of Buzz Lightyear, so if you like that, you should enjoy MIB...something interactive. :) You should enjoy ET if you like rides like Small World and all...and Cat in the Hat is a la Winnie the Pooh ride. Jaws and Earthquake you are sitting there watching things go around you (Earthquake moves a bit though, as you can easily assume). Twister you are standing up watching like a 'show'. Jimmy Neutron is a simulator, and could be a bit rough (BTTF is VERY rough, and also a simulator). Shrek 4-D is nice though..be sure to check that one out (and the animatronic Donkey right outside the exit!!!) Spiderman is worth checking out, even if thrill rides aren't your thing.

Also, you should check out some of the shows..many of them are very well done. I recommend Horror Make-up Show..but if you like music and dancing, you may enjoy Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue and Blues Brothers.

We went to Universal for the first time this May and did not ride the big coasters or water rides (DH hates water rides). Overall we really did not like it. We found it very loud, very crowded and attractions seemed to be on top of each other. That said, we loved Spiderman -- truly a remarkable ride. Please no flames, this is just our opinion .. I know many folks love Universal and I think that's great -- it's just not for us.

hmm, most of the time it seems less crowded than Disney. Maybe you hit it on a bad time of year
