We have never been to Universal before and are going to WDW in October of this year. I'm wondering if we should check Universal out? I don't know much about it and I'm not sure if there is enough there for my two daughters who will be 4 & 6 at the time.

Any opinions greatly appreciated!

We just came back from our 1st trip with our just turned 7 yr old DS, 5-1/2 yr old DS and just turned 2 yr DD. I had the same concerns ahead of time but I have to say there was something for everyone. My 5 yr old is a bit of a daredevil so I wasn't really worried about him finding things he liked. But, my 7 yr old is much more cautious & he had a great time. Our favorites? At US -Jimmy Neutron (great 1st motion ride, if you're not sure about the motion, they have stationary seating); Shrek (everyone loved it but I did sit in stationary seating w/ my 2 yr old); Earthquake & Jaws (could be scary for a 4 yr old but depends on each kid); Curious George Goes to Town (like a mini-water park, it was super hot when we were there so all the water was awesome, if you have good weather your kids will love this); Fievel's Playland; E.T. (great for ages of your kids, even my 2 yr old liked it); Barney Show (my 2 yr old loved it, my boys sulked all the way through it); Animal Planet Live (great show); Men in Black (both boys loved it, I didn't get to go on it so I'm not sure how much movement there is). At IOA - there are definitely more thrill rides here for the older set but my kids still found plenty to do - your daughters will love Seuss Landing; Spiderman - this really depends on the child - my 5 yr old went on it about 10 times, my 7 yr old got a little quesy - it is an amazing motion ride but it is a little wild; both boys loved the Jurassic Park water ride which surprised me b/c it does have a pretty good drop; there is also an amazing play area in Jurassic Parks that kept the boys busy for a long time; Flying Unicorn - a great first coaster (similar to Woody's at US). We stayed at RPR so the best part was that we didn't feel crazed. We went to the parks for a while; hung out at the pool for a while etc. and with FOTL we were able to let the kids go back to their favorites several times. I keep meaning to ride a trip report but this kind of turned into one. Any questions, let me know?
