Planning a last minute trip, going the first week of August. We want to stay on property. Either Cabana Bay or Royal Pacific. See the big advantage for RP being unlimited express pass. My question is how nessacary is the express pass? Will we regret not getting it?

In all honesty. Yes you will regret not having the Express Pass. I always stay onsite and always have Express.

It is hot in Orlando in August. Having Expass Pass will make it so much easier.

Make sure to wear your sunscreen and stay hydrated.

RPR is a beautiful resort and you will love your stay there. There is a sticky on Royal Pacific by one of our regular posters here Schumigirl. She has done a wonderful job of putting together all the information you will need to help you get the most out of your stay there.

We did great without express last year....but it was the LAST week of August, and I think that made a lot of difference. We made a trip in February and stayed at hard rock...we were glad for the Express pass.
It's really all based on the crowds.
Either way,I think it'll be great.

Also, Royal Pacific is closer to the parks... if you can afford it, do it!

I'm on the team for booking a room that has the free EP

Even if you have a light crowd day, still feel the ep is valuable

Having a room minutes to the park is important to me
I can go back quickly to the room if need be

Especially for the times I forget my AP ........ Lol

Going in the heat or a period or possible heavy rain, it's great to have somewhere to go for a long break

Stay at a value without the free ep, you can always buy it in the parks

Thanks all. I think we are going to do RPR. We've actually talked about going down a couple days earlier and staying at Cabana Bay for two nights until our reservation starts at Royal Pacific. Another question, we've booked 3 park unlimited tickets, can we start using those tickets before our reservation at RPR starts? What if we book Cabana using a third party like Kayak or travelocity? Thanks for all your help.

You can use the tickets but you won't get Express passes until you check in at RPR. Go early on your check in day and get the express passes printed off and then hit the parks.
