A few years back we did 2 days at universal, then disney. We were waiting in line for peter pan and then my boys said, "cant we go back to universal?" I called guest services from the line and booked another day at universal. We still do both, but make universal the "home base" now.
I wouldn't recommend it. I really love both parks, but staying onsite at Universal isn't something WDW can imitate. You really do get spoiled. We took our nephew to UO for his HS graduation. This was his 1st time staying onsite. He said he never wanted to go to another theme park w/o a "magic key". It really does make a difference. I recommend that everyone go to WDW 1st, & have a magical visit, then stay onsite at UO & feel like royalty. :teeth
BTW, where do you live in Canada? We took an Alaskan cruise last June & disembarked in Vancouver. This was our 1st time in Canada & we loved the city. We hope to visit other areas in Canada soon.
We split stays in February and just came back yesterday from another....I would definately do Disney first. Universal is so relaxing in comparision with FOTL it is such a great ending to the trip.
Most people I see at work go to Disney first and then Universal. If they start going to theme parks on the weekends I recommend SW on Saturday, then Universal on Sunday, and then doing Disney because of the crowd levels.
We did 2 days at UO, then 5 days at WDW back in 2001. That was the last time my kids wanted to go to WDW! We've been back to UO six times since then. The resorts and parks at UO are so awesome and the kids were right at the "transitional" ages of 9 and 11 in 2001. So they completely lost interest in WDW.
