We are going in October. Since we have only one day to spend at US, we are going to get the 1 day 2 park tickets. My ? is, is it worth the extra money to purchase the express pass during the slower season?

We go in the slow season and, providing you get there early enough, I would'nt bother. Also the EPs are cheaper to buy in the slower times.

We have only ever been in September and I understand it is slightly busier in October (especially towards the end of October), however, we won't be buying the Express Pass Plus. We will make sure we are at the park for opening and try to get all the headliners out of the way by mid-morning, when the parks are likely to get busier.

Thats what we do. It worked out well with the five days for two deal, we spent 3 mornings in the parks, did what we wanted to do, and left. It started to get a lot busier after lunch.

If the lines are bad, I'd buy the passes. There are some things you will wait forever in if you don't have a pass if the crowds are bad. We went for the first time a few years ago in Jan and the longest wait was 15 min so we didn't buy a pass. This summer 60 plus for a lot of things, which is why we stayed on property.
