Universal express questions??!!

Never been to US. If we stay onsite for 3 nights, for example check-in on the 1st, what days do you have the express pass priveledge? We wouldnt go to the park the first day we check in. We are going the last week in July. If we stay on-site, how many days do we need to do both parks, (we would have the express pass) Also, is it so busy we need ps for dining? Any other suggetions, we have a 12, 9 and 6 yr old. Oh ya how scary is the twister show? Thanks all!!

You will have the express access from the minute you check in through all day of your check out day. You can check out of your hotel and spend the whole day at the parks with FOTL. You don't hand in your room key when you check out. Keep it with you because that is your express pass.
July is pretty busy. If there are restaurants you really want to try, it never hurts to make ps. If you want to go to Emerils or Tchoup Chop, you need to make reservations pretty much in advance.

Since I believe the rest was answered, the Twister show is not scary at all. You guys will be fine, the only ride that would be "scary" in US would be The Mummy. In IOA, of course the "scary" rides would be Dueling Dragons, Hulk and Dr. Doom. The rest your children and family should be good to go.
Enjoy the trip! Make sure you go on Mummy/Shrek/MIB/BTTF 1st in US because they're wait times really start to grow if you plan to get on any of those, or Hulk/Dr.Doom (maybe? I don't do IOA) / Dueling Dragons (same comment as Dr. Doom) and definitely Spiderman (can get upto a few hours long line) at IOA.

Make sure you go on Mummy/Shrek/MIB/BTTF 1st in US because they're wait times really start to grow if you plan to get on any of those, or Hulk/Dr.Doom (maybe? I don't do IOA) / Dueling Dragons (same comment as Dr. Doom) and definitely Spiderman (can get upto a few hours long line) at IOA.

However, since you are staying on site, you probably won't wait long for any of the attractions. We've always been at Universal at very busy times and never waited more than twenty minutes with the magic on site room key!
