Hi, i was wondering what the Universal Express pass is and how it actually works ?

Am i right in thinking that it entitles you to 1 go on each ride allowing you to go straight on each ride without queuing?

Does anyone know roughly how much these passes are per person and will i need to buy one for my 4yr old daughter too?

Where do we buy the passes?

Also are there seperate passes for Islands of Adventure and Universal studios? Or can the pass be used in both IOA and US

Many thanks for your help :goodvibes

An express pass can be as much as $53+tax(2 park) per person per day. Gives you 1 go for each ride.
Many people book a night or 2 at a Universal hotel, that includes as much front o fline access as you want. Sometimes can be cheaper than buying the passes. Stay only 1 night and you get 2 days of front of line.
Some days the Express passes only cost $20+ tax, these days you probably won't need the pass anyway, price is low because crowds are low.

We have never found we needed Express but we do single riders lines a lot.

Definitely consider reserving a room at the Royal Pacific Resort - even if you have no intention of sleeping in it the hotel FOTL access is great and can work out cheaper than purchasing the express passes separately.

I don't mean to confuse matters, but there is also a pass for both parks that let you use it as many times as you like at each attractions: 2 park Universal Express VIP ticket (1 day) or (2 day).

Oh my goodness, lots to think about here :rotfl: sounds like a good idea to reserve a room if it works out cheaper.
However we are going on April 23rd - 7th May and im taking a guess that the parks may be quiet during this time, so we might not need the passes.

Do you think they are worth buying ? I should imagine they will be worth it when the crowds are higher. But might not be worth it during quiet times.

Is it only US and IOA that do these tickets? Does any of the Disney parks sell something similar ?

Thanks so much for your help :thumbsup2

I would guess you don't need them at that time of year.

Disney do fastpasses but its a free(for now) system you get them near the ride entrance, one ride at a time. If the regular line is too long get a fastpass and call back in the alloted time frame. They are now trialing a centralized system at AK but its only been there a week or 2. Again you probably won't need to use fast passes much, especially if you get there early mornings.

When we were there 3 weeks ago Express pass was $42.99+tax for one park and $47.99+tax for 2 parks AFAIR.

Defintely glad we had FOTL with room key. Rode Men in Black 6 times in a row as it was one of the rides that DD2 would do. When we returned later in the week (without FOTL) we did not do The Simpsons nor Siperman as both had lines of 60 minutes + :confused3

Thanks Wayneg and Cyrano, i think the passes are quite expensive so hopefully at the time of year that we are going we wont need them, well thats what i am hoping anyway :rotfl:

Hope u had a wonderful holiday Cyrano, im sure you did :thumbsup2
