Universal Express - does it sell out?

I am going to IOA for my first (and probably only) time on Good Friday this year. Obviously I know crowds will be HUGE and we are not staying on site, so we will be purchasing UE in order to see everything once without a huge wait (I know FJ is not included in this...we'll just arrive early and put up with whatever wait is there at regular park opening).

Since we are going on one of the bigger days of the year, and according to the Universal website, quantities of the UE are limited, how far in advance of Friday, April 6th should we purchase the pass?

Thanks!

I think, if you know for definite that you are going that day and you think Express Passes will sell out (which sounds like it will), there is nothing to be gained by waiting. If you are definitely going to buy the EP, buy it now - why wait?

Well, we are sort of deciding between Friday or Saturday so I guess we should just hurry up and decide so we can buy the pass! Ha. Good to know it will probably sell out. Thanks :)

I think you should stick with Friday since that weekend is going to be super busy. However...if you're only going to IOA, I would wait until you arrive to purchase EPs...they are date specific and non-refundable. If you arrive an hour prior to opening to get in line for WWoHP, you should be fine. Or you can wait until evening as the crowds should clear out to a certain extent.

But...if you want to purchase the EPs, I would go ahead and do it now as the prices have been known to change.

Thanks so much for the quick replies :) We decided on Friday and will purchase our express passes soon.

Just one thing to note: In most cases, the single rider lines move even faster than the Express Pass lines. Sometimes much faster. And those are free.

Not every ride has them, though -- but the big ones do. They're also not ideal if you're riding with kids who can't/won't/don't want to ride alone.

$55.99* $49.99* $49.99*
Qty: Qty: Qty:

right now, the epp for Friday April 6th is $49.99 for both parks.

(if you would be doing both parks, it would cost $55.99 for that one day.)

i have seen the epp higher than what is listed now for the cost on different dates.

i still say wait until you are in the park before you make the purchase.
once you buy it, there are no refunds.

if it would rain, the park would thin out.
nytimez told you the best known secret, use the single rider lines.
you can use it for FJ also.

parry hotter will be crowded.
that is a sure thing.

the rest of IOA will have less crowds.
the SRL would work for you and your party.

i have not heard of the epp's selling out on Good Friday.
but, since hp came to town, it is not as predictable as years past for crowd levels.

like metro said, the epp is the price as it is for now.
epp prices can increase prior to that date you plan to buy for.
if you bought the epp at that lower price listed above and it increases, you do not pay that increase.

do what you think is best but i would wait until at the park to determine if the epp is a necessity.

make a plan for what you want to do at IOA.
use the website to chart it out.

do FJ when you arrive and return in the last hour the park is open to do FJ again.

use SRL as much as possible.
