Universal Express...a different question

We are leaving on Thursday for US/IOA. I already have our three day passes but a relative of our babysitter works at IOA and is leaving a HRH key so that we can use Universal Express at the ticket pick up window. Our babysitter says that up to 4 (we are 3) can go to the FOTL with this one key...has anyone heard about this? I'd appreciate some info since we're leaving in less than 2 days. Thank you!

I really question how an IOA employee can leave a HRH room key for you when they are not a guest of the hotel.

When you get this room key - better check the dates on it. If the dates are not current (meaning you are not currently a guest of the hotel) or the key card is blank - it will most likely be confiscated at the first attraction you attempt to use it at.

Remember, confiscating invalid Hard Rock and Portofino room keys is a sport for Ride & Show attendants.

And you should see the stack they have at Spiderman!

I would like to get a picture of that! :) No really, does the winner get a prize, like two tickets to Animal Kingdom or something? :)

Thanks for the info...I had no idea this was not above board. I actually thought that if they were allowed to leave this at will call window, that this was something they gave employees if family and friends were visiting. As I said before, we already have 3 day passes so we will be able to use Universal Express. I am hoping the sitter misunderstood, but I would think it would be strange for her to mix up a HRH key for a special pass. We'll see what's waiting for us when we get there...I certainly won't try to sneek on anything. Also, I would think this could get someone thrown out of the Park!

It may be a special assistance or special access pass. I've seen those before.

i had an express pass and it was 20 min late! needless to say i couldn't get in.

If the dates on the key are good, you shouldn't have a problem!

Anyway, we first stayed on site at the PBH one year ago. Back then, I don't remember a single ride attendant giving our key more than a passing look (I remember thinking to myself to save the key and we could use it next time even if we didn't stay on site). Our first visit this year (late January), the ride attendants were about 50/50 or so looking closely enough to check the date. Our last stay (late May), I think just about every attendant checked the date.

I have a stack of keys at home from the PBH and HRH (for those who haven't stayed yet, the keys are printed with not only dates, but your name, so they are not reusable by the hotel anyway) ... but I know better than to try and use them now :)

Of course, I'm glad they check since I always stay on site and don't want any riff-raff sneaking into the Universal Express line using outdated keys.

you do have a point- i mean the normal lines are bad enough without bad people with phony cards getting in the system...
