Universal "Earthquake" to close.

Her name is Lucille Ball, Wayne. She was a top comedian/actress in the 60's.
Even had a show of her own (now I'm showing my age here !!)

I wasn't born til '67 so before my time. I am not too bad with knowing many old actors/actress but she is one I don't know.

I too am surprised the 'Lucille A Tribute' attraction is still going, think I have been inside once and I have been to Universal Studios dozens of times over the years.

Just don't tell anyone on the US Universal Forums as she is still quite popular over there. ;)

As for Earthquake I haven't been on for a few years, think it's just one of those rides that's showing it's age a bit now.

would think before friends and sinfield came along she was one of americas biggist tv exports, and the most re-runs as well, with her husband desi she ruled the tv airways.
In 2007, she was posthumously awarded the Legacy of Laughter award at the 5th Annual TV Land Awards.[12] and I Love Lucy was named the Greatest TV Series by Hall of Fame Magazine.

Definately have to agree that Revenge of the Mummy is the best ride in Orlando! We recently stayed onsite and did this ride at least 5 times and I still missed half of what was going on! Brilliant!:thumbsup2

If you like it there you should get over to Universal Hollywood, Mummy ride is twice as good there.
Personally prefer rides like Kraken, Hulk and Duelling Dragons. Did Shiekra at Busch a couple of times last August that is fantastic.

Can you tell us what some of the differences between the USH and USF Mummy is, as i might be going to the Hollywood park in a few years (when i get the cash together :D).

I suppose I think of 'rides' and 'rollercoasters' differently - if that makes sense! What I liked about the Mummy ride was that even after 3 rides I was never sure what was coming next! This probably had something to do with the fact that I had my eyes closed!! With the coasters however, you pretty much know what to expect, especially if you have been watching it all day trying to get up the courage to go on it!
I loved the Hulk, Kracken, Kumba and Sheikra but was not a great fan of Duelling Dragons and really disliked the big wooden coaster at Busch Gardens!

Now that my 9 yr old has done all these rides, it looks like a trip to LA is called for!!!:yay:

NO!!! You cant know, you need to go someday and try it without knowing what to expect, you wouldn't want to watch a film knowing the ending:rotfl2:

We are the same with the Wooden coaster, although I did it twice last August to make sure it really was that bad:rotfl: Will no doubt do it again next Easter as I will have forgot how bad it is.
LA is great for a short trip, We did 8 night last Oct and 5 nights this Oct but its so spread out for theme parks, Hollywood for Universal, Anahiem for Disney and right down to San Diego for Seaworld on roads that are a nightmare, not easy driving like Florida. It is a great place to visit but a totally different experience to Florida.

Sheikra is my sons favourite rollercoaster ! He loved it. (I'm not a rollercoaster fan at all - can't bring myself to go on them at all).

They would not let 1,000's of people a day on it if it was not safe, but thankfully I don't have a fear of anything (Well only DW:rotfl2: )

I wont be shedding any tears. Earthquake was well past its sell by date. I was so glad to see the end of King Kong (really poor ride)so with this one gone, a new ride in its place and the Simpsons opening next Spring, things are looking up!:thumbsup2

Will reserve judgement on this one until I have seen it, I just don't get Simpsons, watched 5 mins tonight to try again, it is just stupid IMO. Maybe I am too old:rotfl2: , I love Tom and Jerry, Top cat, Hong Kong Fuey, Flinstones, I like most cartoons really but not Simpsons:confused3

Don't worry Wayne, I don't get Simpsons either !! (Must be our age !!)
Top Cat was brilliant, so were Tom & Jerry and Flintstones !!
I used to love the Disney Steamboat Willie cartoons too.

Im pretty old ;) but I see the Simpsons as very clever incisive hunour, always with a moral twist. Of late, the series hasnt been so good but the writing is some of the cleverest there is in comedy on American TV and of course having been voted No 1 in so many polls must mean Im musnt be losing my marbles yet!:rotfl2: Wayne - Hong Kong Fuey - now that is awful!? :scared1: :scared1:

I don't see why they could not have had king kong and the mummy. Especially since Universal remade King Kong again recently.
