Universal dining?

Any tips for dining at Universal/IOA? Do you need to make advanced reservations? Any good counter service/table service recomendations?

When we where there 14th July to 4th August, Margaritaville where not taking reservations, although if you go to the Kiosk just down from Bubba Gumps, i think they will make reservations for you.
We found we did not really need them at City walk or in the parks with the exception of Mythos.
We ate at NBA where not sure about eating here ,but we had a lovely meal in it and will eat there again next year. Finnegans, at Universal was another place that we had a good meal. Pastamore at Citywalk was excellent, as was Bubba Gumps, Margaritaville was very good as was Nascar. we also ate at Bahama Breeze on IDrive highly recommend it.
You also have the restaurants at the onsite hotels, only ate at RPR , in Jakes and Islands Dining room and both where very good

Confisco Grill at IOA is a nice tucked away spot, even though it is near the exit, it often gets bypassed. Had a great pizza here in 2005 and the desserts were lovely too.

At IOA we really like Mythos and Confisco Grill. At Universal, we have only eaten TS at Lombards but it was very, very nice

Hi

For counter service we had great hotdogs near the Jaws ride at Universal.

For Table service one of the best meals of our trip was at Mythos at IOA. The food was beautiful- i had Salmon and DH had pasta, both were great. We wouldn't miss it again. You didn't need to book then but not sure if you could anyway.

At Citywalks we liked Bubba Gump best. Got to say though the food at The Kitchen at the Hardrock hotel takes a lot of beating.

Another thumbs up for Mythos, we have eaten there 3 times and never had a bad meal.

Margaritaville is also good for burgers etc (and of course margaritas!!).

Ricther Burger Co. in USF has one of the best Garden burgers i have ever tasted, just a lil bit of info if an yof your party is veggie like me! XD

We loved Tchoup Tchoup at RPR - the best meal we had during our last holiday. We did book, but not the 180 days we would do for WDW! Even DD was really impressed, and the staff were very good at making her evening special. We're already planning to go back next holiday.
