Universal Dining Question

We've got our first onsite trip to Universal coming up in a month. The day we arrive, we're not even going in to the parks and though we've got a Harry Potter breakfast the next morning, we'd like to have a nice "start of vacation dinner".

Mama Della's looks great for a meal after a day of swimming and relaxing at the resort - anyone have any other recos ? Is there a reservation system at Universal I should make an equivalent of an ADR at ?

There is a food sticky on the main boards with lots of information that you should find very useful.

We stayed at the Royal pacific for an extended weekend recently and what we did on arrival day was basically hung out at the pool. We got dinner from the Bula Bar...some appetizers and drinks, dd5 got a hotdog and fruit, and we just chilled out there all evening watching the movie, swimming, and then got some ice cream. There's an ice cream stand with awesome icecream right there poolside.

It was a lovely evening! Relaxing and not too expensive either! The pool has such a lovely atmosphere.

I love Mama Della's that would be a terrific choice for your first night. Also really like Emeril's at CityWalk as well as The Kitchen at HRH.

However, we have a Margaritaville, first day tradition - puts us right in the mood!

Have a look at that sticky - there are so many great places to eat at Universal.

JessicaR - we're doing Margaritaville the second night, when my sister and her family can join us. Margaritaville is always a blast for us too.

Jakes is great at the RPR for casual dining.....we loved it last year when we were there.

Margaritaville is wonderful fun!

Bubba Gump is great also however you should brush up on your Forrest Gump trivia before you go since your waiter will test you on your knowledge of the film. They included my children by quizzing them on Sponge Bob. Everyone had a great time!

This year we are going to check out Mythos since it gets such positive reviews. I already have ressies made for this one.
