Anyone been to Universal, SINCE Harry Potter opened, on a weekend since school has started? We are going Sat Dec 18 and debating whether to get an Express Pass or not so trying to get a feel for weekend crowds that time of year.

It is the week before Christmas and we are arriving on Friday. Most families will vacationing that week will be traveling on Sat or Sun so that should make the park not very crowded that Sat.

But, if it is anything like Disneyland/CA Adventure where you have a lot of local SoCal people that have season passes so you have a lot of Central FL people with Universal Season passes, it means the weekend days are pretty crowded even during off season?

That's a pretty cool time of year for Florida people so maybe less locals frequent the park on weekends in the winter when temps are high 60's to low 70's. Will feel like Summer for use Pacific Northwesters.

Crowds will continue to grew the closer you get to Christmas but weekends are definitely popular for locals who can't go during the week...like me for instance. ;)

I especially enjoy the Christmas concerts at the Studios and LOTS of locals come just for the concerts so expect big crowds at the Studios in the late afternoon/evening.

See your other post regarding the EP and going that day. I doubt you would need them before Christmas.
