OK.. I was able to experience Universal for the first time when we were down in Florida for our Disney vacation a few weeks ago. I must say as much as I love Disney I have become a HUGE Universal fan as well. The parks are so much more laid back and easy to navigate. I LOVED that the characters were just walking around and you didn't have to wait in a LONG line to see them. So approachable!:thumbsup2 I also loved the rides... I had my son (14) and niece (17) who were much more impressed with the coasters at Universal as opposed to Disney after we experienced the Hulk, DD, RRnR, Fear Fall, The Mummy and many others... :scared1: the rides at DIsney seemed slower and not as scary;). I am most definitely going to plan another trip to Universal again and this time stay onsite and explore even more:cool1: and make WDW our side trip:lmao:

If you loved it this much wait until you stay on-site and get the unlimited express pass for the rides. You will really not want to wait in line at Disney and only be able to get one fast pass at a time. You will be spoiled.

As many will say "welcome to the dark side" :lmao: I felt the same way after our June 2008 trip and now I'm planning a trip just to US/IOA later this year and probably will not make it to WDW:rotfl:. My DDs would only want to go to AK because of Expedition Everest which we all love but they have become little coaster fanatics!

Glad you had a good time, US and IOA are great parks! Love everything they have too offer...:thumbsup2

We always enjoyed WDW...the kids got older and we tryed US/IOA and we're hooked. Great rides and atmosphere. As someone mentioned previously onsite with FOTL is awesome.:thumbsup2

And when you have the opportunity to compare an Disney onsite deluxe with a Uni onsite (all of which are deluxe), you'll see how the hotels are superior as well. You may not spot any hidden Mickey ears on your quilt, but the perks of staying onsite at Uni FAAARRR surpass anything Disney can offer. Big things like FOTL (how can you beat that?) and little things like toys at the pool, pool hopping, etc.

I don't want to say the last time I hit up WDW. I've been US/IOA all the way for years. So glad you enjoyed it. I always have an extremely fun yet relaxing time at the resort.

FOTL. Walking distance or short boat ride to the parks. Amazing hotels at often really decent prices. Great restaurants. SPOIL YOURSELF!

the hotels sound fun!:cool1: We were able to get a FOTL pass (or something similar) because my son has autism so we were able to walk onto every ride which was nice... although at that time there really wasn't a line for anything longer than 10 minutes....:thumbsup2 Can't wait to start saving and planning!

Sounds like you had a great trip! We went last month to celebrate my son's 15th birthday and had so much fun. I do love Disney, but my older kids prefer US/IOA. I love US/IOA too, the Mummy and the Simpsons are probably my favorite. It really is much more laid back than Disney (unless you go to WDW during the very slow season).
We stayed on site (HRH this time, RPR last time).
