Universal City Walk

Does anyone know if you just want access to city walk if you have to pay for parking? My mom loves Jimmy Buffet so we wanted to eat lunch or dinner at Margarittaville, but I wasn't sure if they validate parking like Down Town Disney in California or if you just have to pay the day rate like people who go into the parks. I couldn't find an answer on their website. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately during the day you will be required to pay the regular parking fee, but evenings (forget if it's after 6:00 pm or 8:00 pm) that parking is free or at least it was last year when we were down.

If you valet park and you get your valet receipt stamped you have two hours I believe. Used to be something like that anyway. If you stay more than the two hours then you have to pay the valet fee, of course.

You do have to pay to park. We were just there the week before Easter to eat at Bubba Gumps and had to pay $10 to park. Some people on the board said that certain restaurants validated your parking for you for lunch (or maybe that was the one tip site), but I have no idea how that works as you have to pay the parking fee just to get into the parking area.

There is no admission fee for City Walk itself. It's just a shopping and dining plaza with a few night clubs between the two Universal parks.

We ate at the Nascar Cafe in Myrtle Beach. They just renamed all the Nascar Cafes to Nascar Sports Grille. So if you have eaten at a Nascar Cafe, then it's the same place just a different name. I don't know if their menu has changed all that much.

And for those wanting a review of Bubba Gumps: It was hands-down the best meal we had in Orlando. Terrific service and food. Highly recommended.

Aha! I knew I must have been missing something. I know that when we were driving tot he parking I did not see a line for Valet. But that is most definietly due to being new to it, being in a long line of other people waiting for entrance, etc.

I am not certain which restaurants will validate for parking. The best bet there is to call the restaurant and check. Also, to check the hours that they validate during and for how long you can park.

From what I have read it is bewteen 11-2pm, but I might put in a call anyway just to make sure . I don't want to get down there and get suprised.

Agree about Bubba Gump, we ate there when we stayed at Portofino Bay last October. I adore the hushpuppies with shrimp in them!
