Universal beginner..planning help?

My friends and I have booked a trip to Universal in early March. Although we're staying offsite, we booked a package through the universal orlando website, so we get early admission to HP I think... but it's our first time planning a trip to Universal and we're quite lost.

How do we get our early entry passes? And it seems like just one of IOA and US sides of HP open early..so how would we know which one opens early?

We're trying to keep it low-budget, so what are some good places to eat that are recommended?

I've done Disney before, but for Universal, I'm feeling pretty stranded on where to begin planning.

Any comments/tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!

There are packages on the UO website for their partner hotels
It's a room, tickets package that allows early entry to the parks

A person can also do add Ons in the package such as transportation
