We went to Universal on Tuesday, March 26th to see our boys march before the 5 pm parade. This was our second time to Univ. We were staying at WDW.

We left our hotel at 8 am and got to Universal front gate about 8:40. They were already letting people in the park. We immediately went to DM and waited about 20 mins. It was a cute show. Next up was Shrek and a 25 min wait. Disaster was next with a 10 min wait. We followed the crowd and did MIB with a 20 min wait. We did a few other things until lunch.

We were going to go to Citywalk for lunch but the lines to get back in the park were very long so we opted for lunch at Mel's Drive In - - I was smashed in line with what felt like millions of others waiting for food. It was about a 30 min wait for ordering and getting the food. DH set off to find a table while I waited in line. The place is very small and they were holding up the cashier lines to get orders caught up. It was not very efficient at all. The onion rings were great though.

We wandered around some more to discover that DM was now at 120 mins! Seeing our boys march was the highlight of the day and we got great pics.
The parade that followed was lame.

Our favorite by far was the Horror Make-up Show. It was great. We saw it twice since DH was riding Mummy the first time dd and I went in.

We didn't stay for the nighttime show because it was very cold on Tuesday and after the parade, we were ready to escape the cold and crowds.

In spite of the crowds we had a good day. I'm still not a fan of Universal. The park is very small especially with crowds and there isn't a lot to do there. And it's very loud! We welcomed the silence of the parking garage. lol

Spring break lesson - get there early to do everything!!! By noon, the crowds were POURING in and it was crazy.

My boys went to IOA on Wed 3/27 and said the crowds were even worse. Tickets being given to GET in to Harry Potter. DS waited 120 mins for FJ with friends and was disappointed to be in line BEHIND the ride, looking at a big ugly building. But he said his butterbeer was as good as always and his friends were happy when he dragged them into the Hogs Head to buy it instead of waiting in LONG lines outside.

all parks are crowded during spring break.

i've done parks before in that time period and changed to do them in a lower time period.

We were there the week before Easter and it was crowded.
We were at the Disney parks two weeks before and it was much more manageable.

it's booked now so I just hope we pick the right parks on the right days, It's the kids first trip so it will be very exciting even if its busy
