For the past 4 yrs I have been going to WDW for my vacation. The last two years I have had trouble with people smoking outside of the designated smoking areas, particularly the resort.

I now am looking for a new vacation spot and was wondering what Universal/IOA is like for DSA at the parks and their own onsite resorts.

My asthma is quite bad if I encounter a smoker anywhere near me. I know where the DSA are at WDW and I avoid them. Is it possible to avoid them at US/IOA?

the 3 onsite hotels went non smoking back in May of this year.
they enforce the non smoking rules in the hotel.

I did see two ashtray cans on the walkway from the hotel exit doors to the water taxi.

for the parks, i did see that in the studios side Central Park has smoking allowed for one side of the inner circle.
don't know where any others are in that park.

for ioa, there is a smoking section by the lagoon once you are leaving port of entry. you have to take the steps down to get to that area.
and again, i don't know where the other sections are for smokers in that park.

maybe the dsa will show up on the park maps?

The DSAs are marked on the park maps so they are easy to avoid. I count ten DSAs on the Studios side and thirteen on the IoA side. Most areas are not on the main walkways so I don't think you'll notice many of them.

Thank you both!

Still working on what else to do. I like to spend 14 nights if I'm heading all the way over to Orlando. I would guess 4 days at US/IOA would be enough without staying on property. Staying on would be great with the express pass and could probably be done in 2 days, but 3 would be better.
