Universal Adventures of Dreams AND Magic, and an expanding World!

Very cute outfits! Very cruisey!

Kadence will wear her Disney stuff and be okay, but her teacher this year was the one making comments. I think she was miffed we took Kadence out of 2 DAYS in Sept so, after that it was just subtle things like, " Do you have to wear your Disney sweatshirt every week?" Um, yes, it's her jacket when it cool!

I do find that most Disney stuff in local stores are kinda crappy. I have started looking at handmade as well, just for the trips though.

LOL! That teacher story is pathetic. I'm guessing she didn't get to go to Disney as a kid! Or maybe she applied for some days off to go herself and was turned down! :lmao:

I remember you said the teacher told her that she couldn't talk about Disney anymore...I am kind of disgusted with that. I know the teacher Claire will have next year. She doesn't have kids, but she loves kids and dotes on her nieces and nephews so much (she was my babysitter as a kid too. ;) ) So I'm sure she will be fine with us going. She might ask to tag along. :rotfl:

I'm still in "no man's land" for most patterns to make stuff. Too big for chld sizes, too small for adults. There are just a few pages in the pattern books for tweens, but it's really hard to find what I'm looking for. Sometimes I have to draw my own patterns in this size range. That Mary Poppins last year was a nightmare. I made he bodice once and had to throw it away and start over. I ended up using an adult size, but the proportions were still wrong on that first one.

And yes, I do think some of the reaction from other kids is indeed jealousy. I'm not sure if any of the kid in Katie's class have been to Disney or even know what it's really like.

I figured that was why many have a hard time with making stuff from scratch. I always think...I bet Janet could do it if she put her mind to it. :thumbsup2 I'm done buying for now though. We have so much already and I need to save, not spend.

I agree! That was a rude comment to make.

I think she jealous!:lmao: Seriously, Kadence would bring things for Show & Tell from her trip, because she was still so excited about having been surprised and had some things that were important to her. After a couple weeks, the teacher told her to not bring Disney anymore, or talk about it for S &T.

I never called her on it. Shoulda, but thought that Kadence didn't need to be in a tense environment over that.

:lmao: Just said that! I don't know what her issue was, I know she was more of a strict teacher, but dang, 2nd graders are excited about things!
I don't know who her teacher will be next year yet, but I'm hoping 6 days isn't going to be a huge problem.

I just found an outfit, but I think I need to convince John first,:rolleyes1 Maybe because I'm usually thrifty, he'll go for it!

Yup, Kadence was a bit miffed, but I just told her that some kids don't understand and may not want to hear about it. She didn't do S&T for a while after that.

The easiest way to convince John os....not to tell him. :lmao: Skip has no clue about clothing and how special they are though.....so I never even say anything because he could care less....though he would say "just wear what we have already".

LOL! Thanks for the vote of confidence!

:thumbsup2

What a terrible thing to say to Kadence! I can hope that she gets a teacher that is more understanding next year!

Claire's outfits are so cute! Did they come fron Etsy or the Disney Store?

I remember on one of the previous post you mentioned an adult Alice outfit. I saw a pattern in the Simplicity catalog today for that pattern! It is based on the new Alice movie. Probably wouldn't be too hard to make & Simplicity patterns are 99 cents at Hobby Lobby this week.

OK I'm all caught up!

I'm so sorry for your parents about the fire! I hope its not a horrible ordeal with the insurance companies and that everything goes as smoothly as possible. I don't do facebook so I couldn't look at all the pictures.

I love all Claire's outfits. She looks taller every time you post a pic of her!

We got those last 2 from the Disney store.
I think I'm going to be a graduate for the Halloween party right now. I found my sons cap and gown (but can't remember where I put the cap at at the moment. LOL) Claire says she wants to be a pirate for the party and for our home Halloween too, which I'm surprised, but at least it will be cheap. No need to buy any new costumes.

I thought I had it set to public so anyone could see them, but facebook does crazy things sometimes.
My Dad's truck and trailor was totaled so he had to get a new of each. I guess he has to go and order them and they will let him keep using his till the new ones come as it's his business and he uses both everyday. But the insurance concluded that over the next year or 2 things would continuously go wrong with it and they would be nickeled and dimed with many clains and it would cost less just to do a new truck and trailer.

Still not sure on the barn yet.

Day 11 ~ Nov. 12

Our plan for this day is to head over to AK for a bit.

akrooftopbird.jpg

We have a 10:30 Tusker House breakfast ADR. I don't expect us to get to the park much earlier than that, so this will probably be our first stop.

aksigns.jpg

We will do whatever else we want to get done at AK and then head back to AoA.

I'm not sure if Claire will ride EE. She has talked like she wants to over the past few years, but we are also finding that rollercoasters really aren't her thing...so we'll see if she wants to give it a try.

Depending on how early we head back, we may swim, or just get changed and ready for our next big event!!!!! The Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party!

This will be our second party ever and our first Christmas one.

Obvioulsy I don't have pictures to share.....but I would love any advice on this if you have any.

WE have a CRT reservation for 4PM, but I really think I will cancel it. It's not our favorite spot at all...and my other hope is that BE Our Guest will be open by then and hopefully we can score an ADR there......I need a little sprinkle of Pixie dust there!

We plan to stay till closing once again.

MVMCP tips!

DO NOT miss the parade!!!! (the second one is far less crowded)

Have cookies and hot chocolate!

Have your pictures taken with the characters in their christmas gear!

WATCH THE FIREWORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have done the xmas party a couple times. We always go to the second parade. Given that we are older, we tend to skip the dance parties and only get into the Character lines if they are short. I am guessing with Claire she will want to see the characters. We tend to go more to the shows than the rides, then once we get the shows complete, we will check out the rides. Last time we were there it was like 25 degrees and we did not have the proper clothing so we left earlier than we normally would have.

We enjoyed the Tusker House, thought it was weird that Donald is only on the outside doing pictures.

I think I had Kdence convinced to do EE, I told her it's like BTMR! We'll see how far I get with her.:rolleyes1

My plan for MVMCP is 2nd parade, what characters we can, and fireworks, anything else will be a bonus. I keep seeing the "ride everything, no lines!" but I can do rides another time.

BOG is my wish!

I'm not a big parade person, but I DO wish that Cortlyn had napped that so we didn't miss out on the characters!!!!! As it worked out, it really was the best night for us all to go, but I think going the first night was just a hugh mistake for us. I hope you have a great time!! The hot chocolate was SOOO good! We were really impressed that it wasn't watered down or anything!

Jen - love the outfits for Claire - ignore the teacher's comments - pure jealousy - I told my son that one of my kids better give me a granddaughter so I can spoil her with Disney clothes and trips! :)

Neither can I! I copy the code from old posts. :lmao:

Claire doesn't like to wait too ling for characters, so we'll see how she is this time around. if it's failry short she will, but the long ones like the dwarves...I don't see happening. She might like th shows/dance parties though.

Claire sin't a fan of BTMR anymore either though...LOL But I usually can get her on for one ride.

I am excited to just "be" there. so everything we do will be exciting I'm sure.

Thanks. I keep looking for more...I need to stop. I almost bought another, but then I ended up splurging and buying Paige a Kindle for her B-day, so I told he lady I had to wait awhile before I made the purchase. :rotfl:

A little side track again off topic....after all I still have 4 1/2 months till I go on this vacation... LOL

Claire had her dance recital on June 9th.
Her practice was the night before on stage...in plain clothes.

Here's a few pictures from that practice.
