Universal Adventures of Dreams AND Magic, and an expanding World!

Our kids started school around the same time that Claire did. It seems early to start but I like the fact that they get out earlier than most schools do. :thumbsup2

The pictures of Claire and Skip dancing are so sweet! I like seeing Skip let loose!

Hey Jen, I just can't believe how big Claire is getting!

I finally looked back and found your pillowcases. Not sure how I missed that post. I think they turned out great! I better not show Katie or I'll end up having to learn how to tie dye still before our trip!

She just keeps growing.

I am so done with tie dying...well I was going to make 1 more for someone...but I am still debating it. I have some dye that should be used up soon, so I guess I better decide if I am going to tackle it one more time.

Skip can have fun..there is proof! I feel bad because he is in pain all the time anymore with both his hips. The one not done is really bad, but the Dr. (yeah the wonderful who did the 1st 2) says there is nothing wrong with it. I am so annoyed. I see him looking so old some days and it makes me sad, because he isn't old yet at all.

I hear you about dragging Claire out of bed. Its a fight to get River into bed at night and another fight to get him out of bed in the morning.

The pictures of Claire dancing with Skip are too cute!

Sorry to hear he is in such pain and can't seem to get any relief from it. That must be so frustrating.

Yep...fighting with her right now to get her to bed. Skip got her hooked on master chef and they just watched the winner. So they are both all hopped up about it and she is totally ignoring me.

Love the pictures from the wedding!!! :goodvibes

Does the Disney Transportation cost at the TX Port? :confused3

That's funny! Not for you but you know what I mean.

Jen -

You must be so excited with both of your trips literally around the corner. I seriously did not realize you had so much coming up so fast. I promise to pay better attention to what's going on. :rotfl:

You definitely should be entering your pics in photography contests. Love all the pictures of Claire from the first day of school and the wedding.

Yeah - the thrill of the first day of school wears off fast, doesn't it? :rotfl2:

Jen, reporting back from vacation and back to school again!! ;)

Can't believe you are leaving in just a few days. And can YOU believe that I am already caught up on your thread? ;)

Jen, so excited for your cruise - not much time before you go! and can't wait to read the trip report and see some of your great pictures. We just had a mini vacation in NY, my husband's niece got married - a nice big Italian wedding - everything was beautiful and we had fun showing my daughter's southern fiance around Long Island. i sympathize with your husband, my husband isn't that old either (at least to me!) , but has problems with his knees and it makes him act and look old and he doesn't want replacement surgery, so we have to slow down on a lot of things that he used to be very active in, including vacations.

So I had a talk with Claire the other day during one of our walks. When we go for walks she always has me tell exactly what is going to happen on our trip. I mentioned her cousins going to CRT. She asked if we were going as well, and I said not that day, do you really want to eat in the castle again? Oh yes...this was very important. .....UGH. I have a CRT ADR for our MVMCP day at 4:10. I booked it, just in case, but had all intentions of canceling it. Especially if I could get a Be Our Guest ADR...which obviously can't happen with my dates...though I will try for a walk up if they have preivews....even if it's just dessert or something light..

Looking at my little girl now though, I know I need to keep it. I have many reservations that I made for basically my own selfs wants, so I really should be fair. So we will keep it. BUT...and there is always a but.....I had figured when I canceled the Castle, I would then have 2 credits left, and could use on on our departure day since we don't leave on ME till around 3 PM. Being on the deluxe plan, I could use it for a counter service if I chose...and I figured the night of MVMCP we would do CS as well.
So I went over my ADR list...knowing right away which other ADR I would cancel.....Yachtsman steakhouse. Yes, I really want to try it, but the timing always had me worried. That is the night we will be seeing the Osborne lights, and I really was worried about cutting our time short at DHS to get to dinner on time. I didn't want to make it for later, because I didn't want to be out all hours of the night either. I took the plunge and canceled it.
Now we have freed up 2 more credits. I figure the best thing for that DHS night is to get back to AoA and get counter service. We have a big lunch at T-rex...and we can eat snacks in between if we are hungry.
1 credit is now left for departure day and I decided that we "could" probably fit in one last TS meal if we went early enough...but not too early. I found an 'Ohana opening at 10:30 AM.....I think this should work out just fine and Claire will get one last character meal before we go...and it will be a new meal for us to try as well.

All set now...I won't be messing with dining anymore.....:worship:

Next up is my ticket situtation. I have 7 days tickets...I only need 6 now that my plans are finalized. I did this before the ticket price increase...and now with the new whacky rules, if I take 1 day off, the tickets will go to the new pricing, which means it would COST me money to take it off. So I am leaving it as is, and if we get done eating by 12 at 'Ohana, we may just pop into MK...even just for 1/2 hour to say good bye and use up that day. If we are up and ready early, we may pop in before 'Ohana, but I don't really see that happening.

So thats the new plans as of now. I will eventually recap all my days since it's been awhile since everything was posted.

I am down to 11 days before I sail the Magic...10 before I fly out. I am still struggling with the packing situation. I plan to pull everything out of the suitcase today and go through to see for sure that I need everything I have...possibly ligtening it up a bit...but I am doubtful and may just have to suck it up and have 2 suitcases in the way down, rather than packing one inside the other.

That's funny! Not for you but you know what I mean.

It took a little coaxing, but eventually she got to bed....the bad thing is, Skip is NO help what so ever. He doesn't care that I have to deal with a cranky kid in the morning.

Don't worry. I am so behind on Dis once again...I have a lot of catching up to do myself.

I swear every morning I am fighting with her to get moving. She hates brushing her hair and will just sit with a brush in her hand...and she does such a crappy job and then cries when I go in for the final brush. We saw Miley Cyris on the today show today and she has a mohawk now...I told Claire I was going to cut hre hair like that if she didn't start brushing it.

I need to get over to your thread. I am so behind. I hope you had a fabulous time. Good for you getting caught up so fast. I didn't do a lot of posting lately. I have had so much going on and I need to get my packing done for the next trip..and get Claires things together to go to MILs...and house hold things as well. EEEK.... Now I am in a panic!

It's coming up fast. I want it to go faster and yet slow down too. I have a lot to do before I go, and I keep putting it off. I am really going to try and get almost completely packed today for myself and be done with that.

Thats what we did. We have 1 extra day of tickets now. On our waterpark/DTD day, if its too cold we can go to a park:)

yep...why pay more for 1 less day? We usually don't go to a park on our departure day....motly because in the past our flights have been fairly early, though we did go to Universal Studios in March since we had a late flight.

But it might be nice to say goodbye to the Castle one last time.

Well, you know how I vote on this. A trip to WDW without dining in the castle............ just isn't a trip to Disney!

Yep....I do like being in the castle...I just wish the food was better...and I wish they brought back the chocolate buckle....best thing EVER...next to no way jose!

Oh, I do agree on that. I don't know WHAT they were thinking when they changed that. We're going for breakfast this time, but I would have totally held out for lunch if the buckle was still there.

Glad you are taking Claire to the Castle for dinner - I can't say enough - they are only kids once and if its something she really wants, its worth the time to rearrange plans - and if you have time to pop into MK the day of departure, that's something Claire will remember too.

If they still had that I might ask for it as my appetizer, main course and dessert!

Yes..I agree. it won't be long before the castle is "not cool", along with many other things I do, so I do try to make the memories now. For her right now, going to a restaurant at Disney isn't always about what kind of food they have...but WHO they have.

Thankfully the castle is still cool at our house! :wizard:

Yes..I have a feeling Claire will be a little more into Disney as she grows up...Paige and Michel lost it pretty early on...but they didn't go as many times either. And Paige went with her Dads family a time or two. They tour much differently, getting there late and leaving early and he complains about it the whole time. So he certainly didn't make it a maigical place for her.
