Does anyone know if the show ended on aug 12th? i really want to see it and we will not be ther until next week :confused3

It ended on Saturday. Universal Studios closes at 8:00 and it's not dark enough for the 360.

what are they going to do with the globes? leave them there for something else?

The spheres are still there and will probably remain there. They will probably used for HHN and maybe Christmas, Mardi Gras, Spring Break and any other time that the parks are open late.

Still can't believe all that money and all that hype for less than a month and a half of shows. Would rather have seen even just an off-the-shelf ride or two opened in IOA instead.

Universal has always ended fireworks the middle of August. Why do you just say a month and half of shows? It's not the end of cinesphere just the end of the fireworks season. They have always had shows when the parks are open later. I am sure there will be many more cinesphere shows. Universal has many seasonal offerings: mardi gras, HHN, Macy's parade, etc. No one ever says I can't believe the Macy's parade is only for one month. Cinesphere will be back but how can they have a spectacular night show when the parks close at 7 or 8?

I think the nearby neighborhoods are also a reason why they dont do fireworks at more times in the year

Park hours for all the major themeparks are based on anticipated crowds. The more people coming at a certain time of year, the later the parks are open. One example is Epcot: they found that most people hadn't made it over to World Showcase until 11:00 AM so they open it later than the rest of the park. If it ever came a time that more people were vacationing in September, I suspect that the Universal Parks would then stay open later in September. With later hours, they would be able to do night shows.

Thank you so much for the info.
I was wondering to they do anything at park closing the last time I went Only US existed so that will tell you how long ago it was. :rotfl2:

Phamton, I have been looking at your posts. I have to say that. I love Universal also. But, I am coming down in Sept, and yes. I understand that few people go then. But, closing at 5p.m. The time when I will be there.Sept 18th-21 .Im just so sad.

Before I moved to Orlando, we always went in the off season and I know it is disappointing for the parks to close early. But think of it this way, with early closing, you won't be waiting in long lines in the heat. Most of the rides will be walkons. That is a choice you make with coming to the park in a non-busy time: shorter hours and shorter lines or longer hours and longer lines. If you want the late hours, you need to come in July.

Also, just a minor correction: the parks close at 6:00 PM on the dates you are going not at 5:00 PM. I checked the Disney hours for the same dates and AK closes at 5:00 PM, MK and MGM at 8:00 PM, and Epcot at 9:00 PM. So technically, Universal isn't closing terribly early at 6:00 PM. I am sure you will have a great time even with the early closing!

Phamton, thanks. I thought it was @ 5. 6pm. Does make me feel alot better. Woohoo!!! Thanks again!!

They spend much more money and much more time hyping other things that only last a month. Does that mean it isn't worth it? No. Everyone who read up on it knew 360 was just for the summer.

And more off-the-shelf rides are the last thing IOA needs.
