Hey everyone! We are considering heading down to UOR March 13-17, 2011. Just checked the USF park hours and it says it is only open until 8pm. Does this mean no U360 because I remember last year it was playing this week? Does Universal ever change their hours like Disney? Anyone have any information on it playing this time of year?

Also, has anyone ever eaten at Lombard's Seafood Grill and watched U360? It looks possible because it appears they have outdoor seating.

Any info in appreciated. Thanks! Happy Holidays!

The 360 show I believe is no longer. All the barges for the show have been removed and it appears that they are working on something else.

That's weird? Are you sure? I really wish I had a chance to see it. We were there is September and I asked a TM why the globes weren't there (foundation were but no white globes) and she said they were just refurbing it and it would be back. It's also listed on their website under Summer Concert Series.

"On non-concert nights, cap off a day of thrills with Universal 360–A Cinesphere Spectacular SM . This cinematic adventure combines cutting-edge projection technology with lasers and pyrotechnics to bring the power of the movies to life. It’s all yours, all summer, and it’s only at Universal Studios®."

Maybe there website is just dated (it usually is). Anyone heard about this?

P.S. Bluer101: Thanks for the info. I am definitely going to look into this. Thanks for the help!

Does anyone have information about the 360 'closure'? I read Bluer's article, but couldn't find anything else on the topic. Anyone know what may replace it?

I don't remember seeing anything about the closure of the show. Just one day the barges were w/o the spheres and I have not heard anything about what will replace it.

Yeah, as I mentioned, we were there for Labor Day and noticed that. When I asked the TM at Richard's Burger Co. she said the spheres were just being refurbed because it was a "slow time" of the year (annual procedure she called it). To me, Labor Day isn't slow, but maybe to UOR it is.

Anyways, after reading Blue's article, it appears the black foundations are gone too?

The rumor I have been hearing is that Universal is going to launch a new show this summer that is like World of Color at Disneyland.

World of Color was a huge success for Disneyland and so I think Universal Orlando wants to bring a water show like that to its parks before Disney World brings World of Color to its parks (if that ever happens). Personally, I am very glad. Anything will be better than Universal 360. While it was an fun concept, it really failed to impress. Also, if your going to have a night time show, it needs to be done every night (or nearly every night). I think the cost of the few fireworks they did use for Universal 360 was one of the reasons it did not happen that often.

I think with a water style show like World of Color, Universal will be able to show that off every night, and it might even be easier for them to update and use during the day and for events like HHN. Hopefully Universal will announce something soon. At this point, with the amount of work they have done, I am 100% sure that Universal 360 will not be coming back in its last form.
