Unity Candle/Sand Ceremony

Has anyone done both or is this usually "one or the other" kind of a thing?

Also, usually MOB and MOG light the candles while the sand ceremony seems to be just the couple, right?

Why couldn't you have the MOB and MOG put the different sand in the 2 containers. Then have the vase or container in the middle that you and your DF combine the sand?

I was just going to put what princessdisneybelle wrote... Have 3 jars and then have MOB and MOG put the sand in the jars that way you both can combine them together...I think that would be your best bet

We did the unity candle. It depends on if you are outside or not. We had the candles lit by our siblings and then we lit the unity candle, not from the tapers that the siblings lit, but from our memorial candle that was for our moms.
