Unity Candle At SBP

HAs anyone had any luck using a unity candle at an outdoor location?? Either with/without a hurricane lamp??? I would really like to have one, but wasn't sure if it would be possible at Sea Breeze Point. Thanks for any help!!!

My EM stated that we could have a unity candle if we like however with the wind at times it can be difficult to light. He didn't say we couldn't but he didn't advise it, we chose to omit the candle.

In the information I received from Disney for my intimate wedding, they don't discourage a unity candle at outdoor locations, but they really try to suggest something else be done. I think it would be awful to be trying to light the thing and the wind blow it out! Kinda like a bad omen!

However, what I have heard of is a "sand ceremony" (there's a description here: http://www.ultimatewedding.com/articles/get.php?action=getarticle&articleid=1146)

I think that might be a truly unique and beautiful alternative for an outdoor ceremony.

We had one at the Yacht Club gazebo. They told us that it might not light, but it did, and it stayed lit too. It was inside a hurricane lamp.
It was beautiful. The candle I had inside was white with mickey crystals all over it.
I have it on my mantel now it's so pretty!

we had a unity candle at yacht club gazebo, we had hurricane lamps but they broke on the way down. although the unity candle wouldnt stay lite, it was very windy on our wedding day tuesday 3/21, randy & stan said they could edit the photos & video to show the candles lite.

Thanks for posting the info about the sand eremony. It is a cute idea, especially if you are having a ceremony ath SBP or Sunset pointe. You could even coordinate the sand with your colors.

It was pretty windy at SBP for our wedding and there was no way that the candle was going to light. Rev. Jack had us go through the motions for pictures and we actually lit it for our 1st anniversary.

My EM just called me and while we were talking she mentioned something about a unity candle. She said that during her time she has never seen one (that doesn't have a hurricane lamp) stay lit. She always warns brides to just keep going if the flame goes out b/c if it goes out once it will probably keep going out!
