United Airlines wishes to make its customers aware of a new gate policy. Effective February 1, 2006, all reservations and pre-assigned seats will be released and reassigned to stand-by or domestic upgrade customers 30 minutes prior to departure if the traveler has not checked in. The prior gate policy was 20 minutes, so travelers flying United should take note of this change.
