What are some unique to WDW items that I might want to purchase when I visit? I saw pictures of the lady who sculpts candy animals. I'm looking for interesting different stuff that will be special. What is some cool things that Epcot world showcase has to offer? I have never been to WDW, been to DL a bunch though. I want to know what to look for when I finally go. Thanks a bunch!!!

i hope u have a great trip. in epcot my fav thing to do would be pick a pearl other then that it would be the candy lady shes really fun to watch

Great idea, I'll make that a must. I have two boys, does pick a pearl have settings that would work for them?

Just a quick heads up for you snowglobe purchasers. Homeland Security will not let you carry on these items if you are flying. Best idea is to have it mailed to your house or to the person it is intended to go to. I have mine confisgated at the airport. I had no choice but to leave it in the trash.

Isn't security for the common person a joke. Meanwhile If I was wealthy I could fly on a personal flight, no security check in required. I heard that because of the long waits at airports, more and more people are chartering personal planes. It makes me feel like poor working class cattle.

and this is one of the larger contributing factors to delayed flights. Too much runway time and airspace are being used up by small charter flights that have only a few passengers. The runway issue is definitely the larger of the 2 problems. I do know for a charter flight (if you own or co-own, don't know about leased ones) there is absolutely no security check whatsoever. Seems to me like they need to substantially increase the cost for these smaller aircraft to use the runways at the larger airports and maybe it will deter them from major airports and they'll use the much smaller, very localized ones. Just a thought...:confused3

Depending on your boys...They have a Build your own Light Saber station at Once Upon A Toy at Downtown Disney. It costs $19.95...My boys are doing it in May:cool1:

For you, or someone you know, in Epcot's World Showcase in Japan's Mitsukoshi Department Store (the main store in Japan) there is a small pond inside where you can purchase a pearl for about $15. After you buy a pearl ticket at a register in the store, you go to the pond and wait for your number to be called. You then choose an oyster and the sales clerk will open the oyster for you and find your pearl inside. They will clean it for you, measure its size and then put it in a small baggie for you. Then, if you want, you can get it set for reasonable prices in a ring setting, necklace setting, buy two pearls for earrings, etc. I got a ring and a necklace and wear them all of the time. My pearls came out to be very good quality. I highly reccommend it. Have a great trip! Let me know if you have any questions about other countries...I love shopping in World Showcase! They have very unique gifts. Check out Mexico as well--they have cool crafts. :goodvibes

My question is, do they have some sort of pearl setting that would work for boys?

Unfortunately...I am not sure on that. We have three girls, so we didn't even think about settings for boys. I am sure that some of the neckaces, as there are several different settings, would work for boys. They are simple--a silver chain with a the pearl placed on it. I don't know if your boys wear necklaces. I know a friend of mine's boy wears a simple silver chain. Sorry I'm not of more help with this!

Maybe they have a dragon clutching a pearl or something? If not I am a girl:tongue:
