Unique things to do at Disney World

Hello!

My family will be heading to Florida in less than a month woohoo for our trip to Disney! As Disney freaks, we have been going as a family for the past 2 decades. Given that, we have decided to take this trip slower than our usual trips now that we are older. haha

We wanted to focus on things we haven't tried before. This trip, we are trying both dessert parties, the horseback riding trail, and the Top of the World lounge for DVC members and guests...in addition to visiting our usual haunts around the parks.

What is something unique that you like to do while in Disney?

Either campfire roast or Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness. Sadly neither fit into this trip

We like to rent a pontoon boat at the Contemporary. While cruising around on a boat is not "unique" per se, being able to zip over to check out the skeletal remains of River Country and Discovery Island, and being able to zip around with a castle in the background are pretty unique experiences and it isn't very expensive to do this.

This is a lot of fun!

Our of all our trips we always have skipped the water parks. This past trip we included Typhoon Lagoon and had a BLAST! We also wanted to play miniature golf but the time gods weren't kind enough this trip.

Certainly does! So much so the PGA played an annual event there up until a few years ago. If OP is a golfer I highly recommend

This is such an amazing idea. Is there a site for where to rent from? Do you need to make reservations? How much does it cost? My DH would LOVE this.

Behind-the-scenes tours. I have done the Backstage Safari, Keys to the Kingdom, and Backstage Magic tours.

Loved both the Backstage Safari tour and KTTK tour. I highly recommend both.

Liked the Backstage Magic tour (it ended up being a little long for me, some of the itinerary didn't interest me much, and it was pretty expensive at about $200!).

If you haven't done it, the Behind the Seeds tour at EPCOT is fun. We did it for the first time last week and we really enjoyed it

No need for a reservation. The marinas are usually well stocked.

Thank you! Without a car, do you know if we'd have to take a cab to the course (I doubt Disney transportation takes you)?

If you are staying at a WDW resort there is complimentary cab service. As far as cost, some of the courses are shockingly reasonable compared to other top notch public courses.

Complimentary transportation via taxi is available to Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. You may request a ride at the Valet Desk or from Bell Services at select Resort hotels, and in the Pro Shop or from any golf operations staff members at the golf courses. Guests are advised to check with Guest Services or the Concierge for any transportation options offered by their hotel.

Golf Day Guests who wish to arrange their own transportation to the golf courses will find that there is no charge for parking at the golf course itself or when going through the Auto Plaza on the way to the golf courses.

My DH has golfed several times and a cab has always transported him to and from the golf course and I am pretty sure it was arranged by the front desk. He loved it. I think they do have a strict dress code on the golf courses. And it was not nearly as expensive as some of the golf trips he has been on with friends.
